Decent price on a decent drive. Adata seems to have sales at Walmart often. I just picked up a 120GB SU650 for $20 a few weeks ago.

I saw confusing spec for this drive. ADATA website says it has DRAM cache but some review sites say that only the SU800 has DRAM while this one skips it. Can someone with this drive clarify? Thanks!

What's the diff between 8xx and 7xx series? I heard 8xx series is better.

Generally don't recommend this website [userbenchmark.com], but the write speeds (especially sustained write speeds) are very similar between the two. This leads me to believe that the SU750 does have DRAM. Plus, all the documentation I could find says it does have DRAM. I have the older SU700 and it does NOT have DRAM.

Ultimate SU750 3D NAND SSD Are you looking to replace your old SSD or HDD? If so, the ADATA Ultimate SU750 solid-state drive is for you. With 3D NAND Flash, it provides higher storage capacity, efficiency, and reliability than 2D NAND. What's more, it features intelligent SLC Caching to achieve read/write performance of 550/520MB per second. All SU750 models provide high TBW (Total Bytes Written), meaning the number of times an SSD can write its entire capacity in one lifespan. The SU750's TBW rating outranks many comparable models, indicating a longer-lasting SSD. Hard to read in text but the top is the 750, the bottom is the 800.

The 800 has a slightly higher read spead, plus seems to twice as durable.

Supports SLC Caching and DRAM Cache Buffer
I believe you are missing the point that despite what ADATA lists on their web page, it appears that the SU750 does not have a DRAM cache. Most reviews of the SSD note this, like the following from Tom's Hardware:
Quote from https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/adata-su750-ssd,6316.html :
Like Adata's other entry-level NVMe SSD, the XPG SX6000 Pro, the Ultimate SU750 features a Realtek SSD controller and Micron NAND flash. Specifically, it is powered by the Realtek RTS5733DMQ controller. And contrary to what Adata says on the device's web page (as of publication time), this controller is a DRAMless, two-channel controller. To the non-tech savvy, this may not mean much, but these two factors have performance-limiting implications, which negatively impact the real-world user experience.

The listing for the SU800 includes the 2TB model which is 1600TBW. At equal capacities, the claimed durability of both the SU750 and SU800 on their respective datasheets is exactly the same.

DRAM or not, it seems like a decent deal on a drive that is very close to the SU800 in performance.

Do you have a cite for that? The SU700 datasheet makes no mention of DRAM, and the only mention I can find of that feature is a product announcement blurb that specially says that it does not have DRAM:

Quote from https://www.anandtech.com/show/11237/adata-launches-su700-maxiotek-mk8115-controller-3d-tlc-nand-up-to-960-gb :
The ADATA Ultimate SU700 drives appear to be one the first retail SSDs featuring the MK8115 without onboard DRAM.

Nice find and thank you for the insightful information.

Here is another mention of the lack of DRAM in a different independent review.

https://www.legitreviews.com/adat...iew_218095

"We voided our warranty and cracked the drive open to see what was inside. What we found was small green PCB that contained a Realtek RTS5733 two-channel and four Micron 64-layer TLC NAND Flash chips. With two Flash chips being located on the top of the PCB and two being located on the bottom. There is no DRAM on the tiny board to serve as a DRAM cache buffer. This is important to point out as the ADATA website and many retailers show this drive as having a DRAM cache buffer. This is not accurate as there is not a dedicated memory chip to be found on the board. The SU750 is a DRAM-less drive!"

I sent a message to directly to Adata to clarify.

For around $30, 256GB is about the most you will get these days. The next step up in size is typically 480GB, it's unlikely you will find that for less than $50 at present. There are some off brands like Zheino or KingSpec with a 360GB, but those are also >$45.
