Fun game, but the soundtrack could be stronger. It has its highlights yet many tracks are forgettable.

I loved this game, I completed like 90% of it and still haven't gone back to finish it - but I intend to .. at some point. Worth $50 easily.I love the story, the gameplay mechanics, it was all fun.

The story and characters don't stand out, but the gameplay mechanics are fun, from the puzzles to the battles. You can definitely see the Bayonetta and NieR influences and styling.

I don't like doing the detective stuff, which is half of the game, sounds boring, and tedious to me. Are the puzzles easy? So I can move on, and get to the action??

Yes, most of the puzzles are easy. They kind of reminded me of Legend of Zelda puzzles at times.

I really enjoyed this game. this is a great price, I had thought nintendo's AAA flagship titles never go on sale but I guess I'm wrong after seeing this and that other Octopath traveler ymmv post.

Bought it at launch and just could not get into it. Maybe I'll try again, but the controls were a little convoluted IMO.

Yeah, the areas in which each individual puzzle is "housed" are small. Like, you won't pull a lever 3 rooms away from a locked door in order to unlock it. Its not n64 zelda. The game really sucks until you get the first summon at which point you can do some really cool shit. I almost returned the game after having played the intro and then quitting right after. I was comparing it to nier automata's intro which id spent several hours attempting and finally beating on hard difficulty. All I can say is the intro is absolute garbage but stick it out and you'll be glad you did.

You should, the controls take a lot of acclimating due to the sheer number of things you can do in combat but once you "get it" itll click and wont feel so overwhelming. For lols, start 2 player mode and look at the control scheme for each joycon.
