Nice deal. A word of caution: drive comes with separate pertition that contains security software. Partition can not be deleted/unmounted. Wanted to jump in on the last time this was a deal but decided to wait for the manufacturer to issue a firmware update. Dunno if it happened in the meantime.

72$ for 512GB is tempting, though... repped, nevertheless.

Heads up "ECE25" is working to take 25% off the 512g and 1T.

Are these drives reliable? Seems like a solid deal considering its size and USB-C connection.

Are you sure you can't just access the hard drive via diskpart to clean the entire drive and then create a new volume in Windows disk management?

AFAIK, no. Read the reviews, there's no way to get rid of the partition. It needs a new firmware. I could be wrong, tho.
