SD has been promoting many products from Amazon lately by making them front page while they're not really slick deals at all. Take this post for example. It's every day price at many other retailers, and one could get an even better price if combining coupons/cash backs, but some how the one from Amazon gets the front page... It's sad to see SD go this route.
This is not a slick deal there's no need to stock up you can get it almost anywhere for roughly $4 for 8 oz bottle
No, it's primarily for things like lawn mowers and snow blowers that go into storage an extended period of time. It keeps the gasoline that is currently in there 'stable' so you don't wreck your machinery.

Does stabilizer need stabilizer? If I stocked up a little at this price does it go "bad"?

You just pour the new bottle to the old bottle, then it will last forever. LMAO

Could be if the car isnt used much like a classic car in the garage barely seeing the road. But IMO this is more for generators and lawnmowers etc.

Same 10oz, about the same price, but "treats up to 50 gals" which is twice.

And as to "why I need this":

I need this because I am now WFH and don't drive every day. As a result, a tank of gas lasts 3 months.

I pour it into my gas cans that I use for pressure washing, lawn mower etc. That way the gas is always fresh and it's fresh in the tanks in case I don't use that equipment for a little while

Yes, it says "Keeps fuel fresh for up to 24 months" on the label on the back of the bottle and something similar in the product's title on Amazon.

I last filled my tank in February and I still have half a tank of gas left as of today.I am using my car maybe once a week. I am going out in between uses and popping the hood because squirrels and/or rats have been trying to build a nest on my engine block. A squirrel took off off from under my car when I opened it today.
I'm not sure though what kind of down time there needs to be before you start using this stuff.
