I never post, but thought I could add some value hear. I purchased 2 chairs on home depots last massage chair sale a few weeks ago. I purchased both the synca chairs, one was 5k other was $2500. I tried both out, both good chairs, very different from each other, but not what I had hope for.
I called titan and asked them if there were any local resellers where I could try some of their chairs at and they pointed me to the closest store. I went in, tried several chairs, admiral, maestro, yamato, did it all, over all price ranges, I told the owner of the store I really wanted something to fix the knots in my upper back and shoulders as I can no longer get my weekly massage in this Post Covid world. He said try this chair, it's the cheapest chair but you might like it (Aster chair).
I'll be honest, I was blown away, (I'm pretty sure it's 2-D). It didn't have a fancy remote, was relatively small compared to their other chairs, but it just hit the right spots, I would rate the foot massage a B/B- with the Yamato chair having a better foot massage. But this chair is simple and extremely effective. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but don't discount this chair because of its price, I mean, I went back tot he store a few times because it just didn't make sense to me that this chair broke the knots up in my back better than the 2 chairs I had at home from Synca which were far more expensive. I'm not trying to present a Bias review, the Synca chairs really have their pros as well and many would find them to be better chairs, I'm just saying for MY Upper back, and MY shoulders, this chair is a beast, and that's not even considering its far cheaper than any other. This is a smoking deal- highly recommend getting a 15% off coupon from HD and purchasing this chair, use the CB site as well. HD was generous with picking up my other chairs and issuing a full refund- 0 cost to me.
It isn't clear on HD or the Osaki site but this seems 3D from the explanations I've read and the details of the chair.
2D: up and down and side to side rollers
3D: adds in and out to adjust for intensity and ability to select where the rollers are focused
4D: adds speed of the roller movement (like knead in a fast or slow movement)
I bought similar level Titan chair in the last promotion and immediately returned. Very low quality chair. Mine was the 8500 though. I suggest to try before buying as the delivery and returns process are not straight forward. It's curbside delivery and weeks waiting to coordinate the return. Please go to store to try before you buy

Exactly what happened to me at Costco. I thought the more expensive the chair is the better the massage is. I ended up buying a lower cost chair because it just massaged me better than the more expensive one. Trying out chairs is a must before buying. Your body size matters and not all chairs are good for all body sizes. If I hadn't taken the time to compare by trying it out I would have spent $1k more for a chair that wasn't the best for me.

Good info. I think the effectiveness of some of these depend on things like your height and build. If you don't mind sharing, how tall are you?

According to massage chair review,
- older 2D roller technology
- 10 inch wall clearance; others require only 5 inch.
