IDK. $300 for a Wifi 5 Mesh System with no wired backhaul, no Ethernet ports on the AP's, limited admin dashboard features, etc. doesn't seem like a great deal to me.
I really wish Costco sells router combo packs like Amazon does. If you read/watch the reviews, you will notice feedback that the wifi points provide lower speeds. Also, the other important thing to note and compared to the gen 1 Google wifi is that the points do not have ethernet ports and can act only as access points.
No need to return it back at Costco, just keep it then go to Customer Service desk with your receipt on Aug 5 and ask for the price difference. They give you 30 days from purchase.

I just received this today and set it up. It vastly improved wifi connectivity throughout my duplex apartment over my previous setup with is using a router with extenders. I'm getting even strong signals all the way to the backyard. I would definitely recommend getting the wall outlet mount for the point, keeps wires hidden and mount easily to any outlet.
You can't wire nest access points. They don't have any Ethernet ports. If you have a wired setup nest WiFi is waste of money. Get Something else with Ethernet ports on it. Eero, deco m9 plus or latest deco x60 are good options for wired setup. I personally went with deco x60. It's been couple days so far so not a large sample size but it has been great and unless something suddenly breaks, I am not expecting any issues with wired setup.
How many Ethernet ports are on the main unit for the M9s? I have a Smart things hub and MyQ hub for my garage door that I need to plug in. And the AP port sounds perfect for connecting my Xbox. Thanks!
This or the last-gen Orbi RBK50v2? Costco had a last three-pack of those which I went for over the current Nighthawk wi-fi 6 set because the Orbi are tri-band vs dual-band and generally better regarded, but this set is interesting since it has four units. I'm inclined to think my Orbi set is better, but wondering if I'm mistaken.
Orbi has gotten better feedback, but your Orbi is working for what you need don't fix what isn't broken.
how well do these compare to the Netgear Nighthawk 3 piece system? I know that the areal coverage is less, but other than that...
I've used both and kept this Google mesh setup. The reason was stability for me. Although in some cases Netgear would deliver higher speeds sometimes (15-20+ mbps) it would lose connection or would have to reset once a week. Not sure if it was my fault but seems like others had the same problems. Good chance Netgear will fix this through an update or firmware update. Google mesh delivers slightly lower speeds but it is a really stable connection. I haven't reset the system since initial setup (6 months.) Hope this helps!
I'm using the original google mesh setup with 16 hubs. 4 of them in a large out building that is ran back to the main with a cat 5 since it is 400' away from my main home. It's been up and running since walmart had them for $99 for a three pack, which was 3 or 4 months ago. Absolutely rock solid and fast internet. I'm so happy to be done with nighthawk crap
The fact you can have a call back via cat 5 is amazing.

It only has total of 2 ports. You will need ethernet sitch to plug all those things.
I bought both DecoM9 Plus as well as Google Nest Wifi. Since, Deco M9 is a tri-band router, I wanted to test that first. It works superbly for my needs. But, the main Deco M9 unit that's connected to my modem is getting extremely hot. Is that known? It was so hot that I fear it may burn my unit. Can someone with Deco M9 Plus give inputs about the heat issues on these units?
Bought the Nest 4 pack in July. To get the $100 discount, they asked me to buy another at $299, and then immediately return it to get the $399 back on my card. Strange way to do it, but it worked and took all of 5 minutes. Really can't beat this deal or Costco's customer support.
Google could've done so much with their 2nd gen wifi but they barely made any hardware improvements while competitors came out swinging with new upgraded wifi6 kits.
Very few devices support Wifi6, and mixing versions effectively locks you to lowest common denominator, so Google made a call to target where we're likely to be with in-home devices for the next few years.

May be not WiFi 6, but they could have come out with tri-band and kept at least 2 Ethernet ports on wireless points. Not having Ethernet ports on access points is a deal breaker for anyone who wants to set it up with wired backhaul.
My house is 2100 sqft. Current I have google wifi 3 plucks. I want to buy this for inlaw house but they only need 2 (the router and the point)...so I wonder if it's over kill if I add 2 points to my house...

Yes overkill by a lot. And don't do that. If you have too many pucks overlap too much then your device might switch between them too often and cause slow downs. Best set them at least 20 feet apart.

Both Google and Eero are Dual band.
Does this one seem a better deal or Eero?
Any suggestions

Kohl's has the deal now
