I feel your pain 😞
Can you still do great crown molding cuts with single bevel?
But, you get what you pay for. I've seen this saw regularly on sales for $179 at least a couple times a year. It's not bad for $200. It's actually a great saw. Just know why you are getting it and what you want it for and if you have large DIY projects in the future that are going to require lots of cuts on long boards, I'd recommend to consider spending a little more on a double bevel miter. I should also mention that there is the risk where you think you won't need it, find you enjoy woodworking, once you get a little comfortable with it, and then realize how much money you can save with relatively simple carpentry skills in your home, and then wish you had it as you get more into it.
It's a quality miter saw though here.

Probably a high end circular saw and guide would do everything you need. There's videos on YouTube you can watch. You'll want a saw with a magnesium shoe, and some type of a foam board to put underneath the wood as you cut it. You'll have to choose a work surface. Either a table, some stiff plywood going across sawhorses, or doing everything on the ground. You can go to a quality lumberyard and have them cut strips of wood that to use for a guide to clamp down for making your cuts.
However, I see a lot of miter saws that are lacking the holes (see the right side fence of the Dewalt DSW713 linked below). Am I missing something, or is it not possible to attach a sacrificial fence to a miter saw without fence holes?
