Xfinity Mobile: $400 Rebate on Galaxy Note 20 / S20 smartphone upgrades (plus $150 Samsung credit on Note 20 preorders)

+13 Deal Score
27,477 Views
Xfinity Mobile is offering $400 prepaid Visa card to existing customers on any Samsung 5G phone purchase (except A71)
Note 20 preorders through 8/20 also get up to $150 Samsung store credit

Promotion runs 8/6/20 - 9/15/20, limit of 5 rebates per account.

Prepaid card rebate is only on upgrades for existing customers, but since no specific tenure requirement is mentioned,
new customers should qualify by opening an account (with BYOD, for example) and then "upgrading" as an "existing customer" few days later.
It may even be possible to combine this with $50 BYOD port-in promo for new customers.

Cheapest plan is $15/mo for Comcast customers.
Xfinity unlocks paid off devices after 60 days of use.

Additional details:
Requires upgrade of an existing Xfinity Mobile line to an eligible Samsung 5G phone, excluding Galaxy A71 5G UW and activation within 30 days of order. Existing phone must be paid in full if eligible phone is purchased online or pre-ordered. At least 50% must be paid if purchased at an Xfinity store, and an upgrade fee may apply. Must maintain Xfinity Mobile line with an account in good standing for 90 days following phone purchase. Prepaid card mailed to Xfinity account holder within 16-18 weeks of phone purchase and expires in 180 days. Maximum $2,000 in prepaid card amount per customer/account. One card issued for total qualifying amount.

They're offering me the $400 off in bill credits (37.50/mo vs 54.xx/mo) and not the prepaid card.

With xfinity i can get $400 gc without trade in. If i was to sell my note 9 for around $300 or $350. I would get more out with this deal.

Btw, I've heard horror story about trading your phone to Samsung. If you don't meet their qualification, they still keep your phone?
They can. It's in their terms and conditions for trade-in.

Are Xfinity phones unlockable?

Yes they are able to be unlocked once paid off in full. My unlocked Xfinity Galaxy A50 works with T-Mobile and most other networks.

I saw this too, but followed the process through and the $400 prepaid card shows up in my cart when I select "pay in full".

no. the terms specifically say the prepaid card deal is for existing customers only.
you should see the offer if you're logged in and select upgrade.

you need to pick "Pay in Full" though. can't be installment plan.
there's option to pay 50% if ordering at a store.

Existing user here... I did installment plan and checked out with the 400 prepaid card. It actually wouldn't give the card if I paid in full
My current device is paid off if it matters.

as another user said, it'll probably show up in final step when you pick "Pay in Full".
you're going against their clearly stated terms. personally i wouldn't have risked it. good luck.

edit: nevermind. looks like i misunderstood the terms. i think it might be talking about the device this new phone will replace (through "upgrade") that needs to be paid off.

It sounds like paid in full is referring to the existing device not that you have to pay for the note 20 in full.

The terms clearly states that for the gift card the phone needs to be paid in full or at least 50% if purchased in store. I believe installment comes with bill credits over 24 months. I hope you get your gift card.

Keep in mind that it is the S20 UW by Verizon which has 8 GB ram instead of 12 and no sd card slot. Apparently they did this in order to get "fast" 5G on the regular S20 (ultra wideband). Other carriers have the slower 5G but keep the higher ram and sd card slot. Still, $600 for an S20 UW after the prepaid card might be worth it depending on your particular needs.
