If you didn't like it ,why would you sell it? Simply return it to Adorama for your money back.

Find this silly. No matter what guitar you buy ,even a cheap Epiphone or Squire ,you'd lose a couple hundred. Buying any guitar trying to make cash is foolish and usually you'll end up losing. BTW these on Reverb and much older guitars selling for $1350, but that's mute.

Buy a guitar because you want to play and enjoy it , get a new tone you may be missing , to enjoy the experience.

Griping of possibility of losing a very small amount cash IF you truly play guitar and use it as a tool, when it could give so much to build skill and enjoyment. Don't get it. Players lose when buying and selling guitars , part of the deal. If you're only trying to buy as some sort of investment, feel bad for all that you are missing out on.

Musicians should feel lucky if in occasion we do find a deal on a very good quality guitar. Not criticize it.

It is, and I checked Adorama yesterday, these prices were the same then. So it's not even a return of a deal that wasn't available before today.

Darn good guitar. Build quality, playability, PUPs are all excellent.

Read before somebody saying these don't have great resale. Very very wrong. Look on Reverb used are selling for more than these.

Have a Les Paul Standard 50s and these are built with much more attention to detail. Prefer the Gretsch over the Standard LP

My Heritage H-150 is a far better Les Paul compared to the Gibson.

A tad better than the Gretsch too. But fir half the price the Gretsch is the best value

They've been selling used for $1350-1550. After $75+ in Reverb/PayPal fees, you're not really going to be getting your money back if you sell, unless you live in a no-sales-tax state (the G6228 would cost me $1430 including tax).
If I decided I didn't want it, I'd have to sell it for $1500 + shipping just to break even and without considering my time/opportunity cost. There's someone on my local craigslist struggling to sell their new G6228, wrapping still on the fretboard, for $1550.

If you don't know, then no, it isn't worth spending $1500 on any guitar. A Squier Classic Vibe or Yamaha Pacifica will be a very good guitar for you to start with.

Perhaps you should take your own advice, Mr. Wall of Text.

I am not criticizing the deal if you like the guitar. I'm just warning others who might be lured in by your implication that a used model would sell for more than the cost of the deal. I agree, it's not an investment.

Bought one if these a couple of months ago (same deal). Sold my precious Duesenberg to buy it, and don't regret that decision at all. All Terada factory guitars are some of the best made today, and this guitar is a modern Jet dream. Love the Broadtrons. I get compliments from folks whenever I play, as its inspiring, fun, and is a rock machine. Already have some really nice guitars. Might not be the best choice for a first guitar.

Rock. Power Pop/Punk. Cowboy sing-a-longs. Maybe rock-a-billy, but you might want a Gretcsh with Filtertrons and a Bigsby for that. Although the world is full of skilled players who could do it, I think I'd choose a different guitar if I was trying to emulate, Brad Paisley, Niles Rodgers or John Frusciante. This won't go were a tele and strat go as easy.

Is it worth it? 100%, but only it's the sound you're after. I have one. It's easiest my highest quality guitar and I've an LP that seems like a hunk of wood after playing mine. It's hard to describe, but after having a few electromatics before (which punch above their price in quality), you really know why these cost so much more than them. They are finely made instruments as opposed to just very good quality guitars.

That said, it's a unique sound. I have a dozen different fenders (teles, strats, jags, jazzmasters) and this sounds like none of them, and not like an LP. They have humbuckers, but they are brighter, but still heavy, and they fill up the spectrum. Even with the volume rolled off, they won't fit in the mix the way a single coil tele or strat (or jag) will. They are the mix. They take over the spectrum.

But that's a good thing if the arrangement is a guitar, a bass, some drums. You can roll back the volume and get a radically different sound, and roll the master volume up (or just keep your neck and bridge at different volumes) to get heavy and distorted. It can get heavy. But not LP/SG heavy. It's just different - I don't know if it's the broadtrons or the chambered body. Anyway, I haven't touched my LP much since getting it.

If it's your first guitar, the advise for a custom vibe or pacifica isn't bad as they are good quality for cheap, but they will never sound like this if they are single coils. Again, that could be a good thing or bad thing. For the music I do, I need to fit in a very busy mix. So I need less sustain and a very narrow range. But if I was going to the moon to write music, I'd take this. It's got a lot of different sounds in it, feels like joy in my hands, and I think I could write and sing with my heart so full, they just might feel me on Earth with this guitar.
