For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

2. How do you convert United miles to AF miles at 1: 1.5???? Also I don't follow your math for the 100K united miles and how you are left with $65 and effectively no annual fee.
2. I haven't done it myself, but going off of the reports of others who have done so, it is possible to redeem United miles towards the annual fee of the Club card (not Air France (?) miles). At 1.5cpp, or $150 per 10k miles, you are left with 70k mile bonus and a $100 fee, or ~ 63k miles, $0 fee + the 5k miles from spending. The issue with that strategy is that you either need the bonus to hit on your 1st statement in order to have the miles to redeem, or otherwise have a sufficient number of United miles already, using the later arriving bonus to replenish that stockpile.

You can redeem the points for cash at a ratio of 1cpp (or 10,000 points = $100 if that is easier to conceptualize), or redeem for travel through Chase's travel portal (rebranded Expedia) at a ratio of 1.25 cpp (10,000 points = $125), or transferred to various airline/hotel partners whose value can vary significantly.
Also, does anyone know if the points can be redeemed for non-travel at a similar dollar value?
