It's 4 years since receiving the sign up bonus.
You have to wait 4 years since opening the first one before you can get another.
The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

So if I opened my Sapphire account in Dec 2015 and closed it in 2018, I'm good to use this offer? Got a targeted email for this, so assume I am, but this stuff is confusing.

any chance they give more time for spending due to.. you know, this thing going on? $4k in 3mos is tough for me. And how is 80k pts = $800? you can redeem it as statement credit? whats up with no promo APR? i dont dine/travel. is this card even useful for anything else? Is this once-in-years kinda deal? i will really have to stretch to meet spending. need ideas on how to blow 4k on retail..

Buy some gold or silver from jmbullion. There's like a 3% up charge for using cc but 800 off 4k is 20% so that's still well ahead. Win win! Inflation, baby!

Yes, you can transfer the credit line from the Reserve to the Sapphire, or any other personal Chase card that you hold. The $100 AF discount for the Reserve is supposed to end in December, so if your next AF is supposed to post to your account in January, you are likely paying the full fee.

I am not sure what you mean by "My Priority Pass expire Sep 2021 so I'd like to renew it before i cancel the Reserved"? Regardless of what the physical PP card says, the membership tracks the Reserve card. 'Renewing" the membership has no real significance since the membership will automatically be cancelled once you close or downgrade the Reserve.
If one has a Chase card for $20K credit line....and another for $20K and wants to transfer the $20K to the first card, wouldn't there be a hard inquiry because Chase has to run a check after an individual card goes from below $35K threshold to above $35K. I recall reading it somewhere. I know it wouldn't apply for someone with $50K going to $60K because in this scenario is staring from above the $35K threshold.

Separately, if you are averaging $1K or $2K a month in spend, does it make any sense to have a large credit line like $50K? Credit score is based by % utilized not the amount of credit extended so if your spend is low, you can keep the credit line relatively low. So, in my example, a person doesn't need to have say, more than $24K for $2K average monthly spend. Correct?

A side question: I have around 1K points with Chase Freedom. I can get $1000 for them. Are there any other way to get more benefits (like converting to miles or can I use them on chase ultimate rewards or anything else)?

I have heard that said about the > $35k hard pull, but have never bothered to put much thought into it, as I don't see the benefit of having super high single lines of credit. In that case, the best move is likely to move $15k (or $14.9k?) of the credit line to the Freedom, leaving ~ $5k on the original card - you do have to leave some credit on the other card after all.

As I noted in the last paragraph, personally I don't see the benefit of the $50k+ credit lines, at least not for my use case. Sounds like you have the right idea in that case.

As an FYI, with Chase you can move all your credit line (including from Sapphire (all variants) from an account being closed except for a min $500 credit line that has to be retained on a closed card.

So, if you have $15K on CSP, you can move 14.5K to Freedom

It all comes down to when you got the sign up bonus for that Sapphire account/card. If you hit the minimum spend and got the bonus points early in 2016, you'd be good to go for this offer.

Currently have a preferred.

If I do a product change to the new freedom flex, can I re apply for the sapphire preferred? It's probably nearly a decade since I've had my current preferred as well as getting the bonuses at time of sign up. Also no new credit cards in past 2 years, possibly one.

1,000 UR Pts I think are worth $100. 100k pts = $1k. Should be a option to transfer them to Southwest or Hyatt.
