For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. It's assumed they'll do it closer to PS5 launch Source: https://www.techradar.com/news/sony-ps5-ready-tv

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

I think what it might be is the pressure from the mounting system being put on the panel, which creates dark spots

This will be a major issue for me and now I am hesitant about buying this. I have to wall mount it high and aim it down at an angle which seems to be the cause of the problems. I am using my own wall mount and not their specific one though. The TV comes with some metal standoffs that I don't know will work with my mount, and the guy on that link did not use them. Maybe the standoffs prevent the problem?

Oh greeeaat. I wanted to wall mount it as well but this might have to be a no go if the tv has that issue. I looked around and it seems more common on the 65" model versus others. Frown

Dangit Sony.

Seems like the issue only shows if you tilt the tv. Mounting it vertical should be fine. I'm mounting mine, if it happens to my panel I doubt I'll notice it while viewing normal content. If you run tests to expose issues you will never unsee them.

I would play the panel lotto and see how yours turns out. If you hate it you can send it back.

65" X90ch or h9g for movies? Both are about the same price right now.
If its HDR and Dolby Vision movies...probably the H9G.But Hisense has some serious quality control issues and currently has red ghosting on a lot of their sets.
Sony X900H doesn't have that issue and should look really good on ALL sources and its color accurate out of the box, the H9G you may have to tweak a lot or get it calibrated. .

Between the AAFES and Costco deals hitting so close to each other I'm hoping this price reduction extends to other major retailers as well.

Anyone know if u go into warehouse to get a tv is it possible to buy it then have them hold it for you till the weekend? This won't fit in my car and have to wait till weekend for a friend with a truck to help me. Don't think I should wait till Saturday as they may all be gone by then.

Having a really hard trying to decide between this 65" tv and their 75" LG UN8570 also on sale for $849. There are no reviews for the tv on rtings so I'm really hoping you guy can give me an idea of how it compares to this Sony. I would be using it for about 40% video gaming and 60% Netflix/Hulu/YouTube

Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

I see people posting about this issue on Reddit and some have responded that they have no issues with their 65 in mounted at an angle. Sounds like a panel lottery issue we might have to play either way.

Yes, as long as Downloader is still available in the Play Store.

Why not ship it?

Pick up in store tomorrow morning or ship and save $58 dollars in tax? I know the SD answer is to save $58 but I'm a bit worried about shipping issues or damage that could occur. Never had a TV shipped before...
