Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

So, what is the best way to do the trade-in? By phone, by APP, by Facebook or go to TMO Store?
No tradein required.

So you pay shipping for ground?
Yes. Is it free if you go different route? I thought it would cost more if you go into store via fee

The promo is finally up on the T-Mobile promotions page (https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/p...onaloffers) and on the phone's page of the T-Mo website. The promo code is T396 (A rep had told me two days ago that it would be T401). This is $500 for an eligible trade in without a new line required.

But you now will pay more in monthly charges since you added an extra line, right?

Just a question to those with type 3 code. Were you able to register code at t-mobile insider website? I just want to double check whether it's really my grandfathered account that is preventing me from registering the code. This is the message I get when I try to register the code that I found.

"Unfortunately you are not eligible for this offer. Please contact T-Mobile Customer Care by dialing 611 from your handset to complete the qualifying offer requirements."
I get the same issue for my old Simple Choice plan, are we actually eligible?

I'm on simple choice plan. I was able to apply it to my account for the A71 deal using type 3 code.

I am on simple choice and if I choose to do trade in without adding a line, would the type 3 code be useful at all?

I think it depends on whether you need a new line or if you have a qualifying phone to trade in. I can add new line for 12.xx a month (this includes taxes/fees), so for 24 months I would pay a little over $300. Yes, its a $100 more than the current offer. But then I don't need to trade a phone in or buy one to trade in. $300 seems like a reasonable price for a brand new phone. The only thing is I really don't need a new line.

I think we're out. One representative I talked to on the phone yesterday said that but I just wanted to confirm. Sometimes the representatives don't know about the old grandfathered plans. Oh well. I also looked at the trade in $500 offer as well and it says Simple Choice Plan is excluded. I don't think know if they're talking about the old grandfathered one or the the new one they brought back briefly this year.

When doing on line trade in, do you see all details as how much you'd get for credit, how much per month, etc....? I don't see that even I am on the last payment screen.

Be sure to let the Rep know if you are using a phone other than the current phone on the account otherwise the Rep will use the current phone.

Please check how the $500 credit works, I was told I can request the credit in the form of debit card or have bill credit when I call to activate the phone after receiving the phone. I received overnight shipping upgrade with no charge.
Thank you. Appreciate the help!
