Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

Nope! Paid $6.99 shipping and $20 upgrade fee
Call and speak with CS to see if they can waive the shipping charge. I got the deal by calling the 800 number and the shipping charge was waived and upgraded to overnight. I would love to see how to get rid of the $20 BS fee.

Just got off the phone with a Tmo rep who helped me with the order. He said the phones typically ship a few days before Oct.2nd release date in order to arrive around Oct.2nd. He anticiapted that would be around the 29th or 30th. When they are shipping Tmo will have the IMEI off the phone assigned to your account and even if it hasn't arrived at home, a rep should be able to give you the number. The rep I worked with is going to call me back and provide before the end of the month. Great service from these guys!!! Wish all customer support was like this.
Sounds risky.

I think you get $83 as instant credit with the remaining as monthly bill credit ($500 - $83) = $417/24 = $17.38 as a bill credit. The phone is $29.17 - 17.38 = $11.79 is what the monthly charge is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I also go $83 as credit for One Plus 6T.

My monthly payments still show $29.17 on the left. So I am wondering if my plan is eligible at all?

This is what I got from T-Force since it' didn't show up on checkout for me:
Yessir if you processed the tradein information, you'll receive notification of your offer enrollment 7 days after your device purchase. Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after purchase, but in some cases, it may take up to two bill cycles to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill. Your promotional credits will be paid out over 24 months with no means to speed up their payout. Additionally, if you cancel service prior to the full 24 months, any remaining promotional credits may stop. ^TauicitaJ

How did you regter your code? I can't seem to register
She said it would work once the order is placed and the system would see the phone, but I don't have a type 3 code yet as I was trying out used ones and it was giving me that error. Idk how people are registering codes before getting the imei of the phone

If that 20% was added recently, then you can't. If you have 20% from old days, then you can use Type 3.

But.... can you do this if you already have a 20%?

I believe the amazing Jman100 said that codes he's giving out (and those given to people directly from TM reps) are already registered.

Based on the discussions around forums, it seems you can't really pre-register the code. So, it's gonna be luck game, once we have the IMEI of the phone.

Ok, I'm at a loss for what to do here, so I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction.

I currently have an S7 and S9+ AT&T. I'm looking to possibly add a 3rd line for my daughter. When I go to the T-Mobile site, it is giving me:
- the "3rd line on us" promo ($120 for 3 lines of Magenta)
AND
- 3 free S20 FE's (after bill credits) through the "2020 Samsung Activate P8 (T398)" for each line.
- I also successfully submitted a type 1 hookup code for an additional 20% lines that I guess will magically apply?!?

So... what do I do with the S7 and S9+ I currently have? Am I missing something or otherwise leaving money on the table?

I think you're good since you got past the first page. I get the error message after entering my phone # and the code. Your code is probably registered to your phone # so no need to worry.
Have you purchased the phone and entered the number that you chose to upgrade from?

Thanks. Do you have any idea if that would be far enough "outside" of the account that it won't like override the 20% or something?

While the summary page says a $500 discount for any of the eligible phones, when you start the process online it gives you the following (some phones only get $300). Thus they obviously forgot the "up to $5000 discount"

Trade in a qualifying device in good condition.

Get $500 back when you trade in:
Apple: iPhone 11, X, XR, XS, XS Max (any variant)
Samsung: Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series
Google: Pixel 4, Pixel 4XL
OnePlus: 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 8, 8 Pro
LG: V60 ThinQ

Get $300 back when you trade in:
Apple: iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus (any variant)
Samsung: Galaxy S7 series, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8
Google: Pixel 3A, Pixel 3A XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL
OnePlus: 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Sounds like you got everything. You don't need any phone to trade in for new lines. You can however, donate your S7 and S9+ to slickdealers that are looking for phones to trade in Peace
