Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

I was wondering in the past what others trade in and in what condition and whether the trade in was accepted. I have a galaxy s7 edge in good working condition but a hairline crack on the left edge of screen. Any chance they will accept for trade in? Thanks for your feedback.

I've added a link to another SD post with details.

Not entirely accurate. You do not pay "up front", you pay monthly minus the monthly credit. Yes you have an installment plan but no you don't pay up front.

Nope, even MVNOs on tmobile are getting 5G access for free.

You should be able to get this $500 off FE deal on the 55+ plan.

Which plan? Any plan that you can get an EIP on (a phone installment plan) should qualify, except for "Value Essentials" which is the 4/$100 plan they offered recently.

Both. See the link I added to the post for details about the insider hookup.

Yes, for the S20 FE, the $200 will be spread out via 24mo of payments. Or you could pay $200 down and your bill will not go up.

The Type 3 hookup code gives you a $200 rebate card. See details on that promo in the link I added to the post.
Hi, i am on 55+ plan too, do u think it is also qualify for the trade in for $500 off and a hook up 3 code? Do you know if hook up type 3 code work for 55+ plan, too? Thanks!

newbie trade in question. I plan to trade in my s7 phone at a corporate store. Do I have to pay the 700 upfront or just $200 since i am trading a phone in? How about the tax? It wouldn't mess with my existing plan right? I have a free line and $10 off if i don't go over 2gb data on each line.

They will take your S7 and examine it. If it is acceptable, they will assign a value to it, say $50. They will subtract the $50 from $699. The remaining $649 will be spread out over 24 months on your T-Mobile bill ($649/24=$27.04). You will also receive a bill credit of $500 less $50 spread out over 24 months ($450/24=$18.75). For the next 24 months, you will be paying a net of $8.29 ($27.04-$18.75).

At the time of purchase, you will also have to pay tax on the $699 plus a $20 SIM upgrade fee. You might be able to get them to waive the fee though.

I hope this help.

People who are skeptical about mail-in trade-in - is there a history of TMobile being strict and people loosing phone and trade-in monies? I have never done mail in trade-in, so would like to know.

Are you kidding me? If you're staying with TMO. . .$500 trade credit for an s7, no add a line needed.

Updates to Android 12, 3 years of security updates. 50% larger battery, that is new no less. 6.5 inch screen vs. 5.1. 120mhz screen and 5G (that I turn both off). Better camera. More bands. 128/6 vs. 32/4. The list goes on and on.

That's $200 to upgrade for the first time in 4 years. If you think spending $50 per year on your phone over the edge ($200 net for the new phone for expected 4 years usage by your standards), then why are you on TMO and not on a very cheap MVNO instead?

Next year your S7 will have $0 or $100 trade in value, meaning you will spend more in the end waiting until S21. If not this deal, then soon! Good luck. . .

And if you get the Type 3 code. . it's net free (after taxes). Are you eve considering NOT doing this upgrade?

Anyways, go to the Tmobile reddit thread and then find the sub reddit that deals with Hookup. Click on the Discord banner on right side of screen, subscribe to Discord, then proceed and click on Hookup-info on left side of the Discord, and take a ticket # (like at a deli) if they are still not in shut down mode still--they shut down tickets to try and catch up to orders. If so, check back later. . .
hi, i am planning to upgrade to FE from s7 edge, too.
hope you can help me on this:
1. I have 55+ plan (2 lines), planning to upgrade one line with this deal.
So, i should either go to store or online to pre-order FE.
Then, trade in my s7 Edge
I should received a trade in value, then the rest ($500-trade in value) will be spread via 24 months bill credit.
2. When should i activate the hook-up type 3 code? When i receive the new FE phone?
Do i need to pre-register the hook up type 3 code first (like how ppl do for the Type-1 code)?
I didn't do the Type-1 code becoz it does eligible for 55+ plan. This is my first time use hook up code. My concern is if i go to discord and grab one, even those code not used by other yet at this moment, but if i need to wait for my phone to come in then put in the code, by that time, someone might use the code i have....right? I did also do the ticketing system, but no reply yet.
Thanks again for your time.

Hi, I'm a Sprint customer with 5 lines . I have 5 IPhone XS that I would trade in to get 4 iPhone 11 Pro and 1 Samsung S20 .
What would be my best option to go about this. I would like the 3rd line free or should I get a hookup code to get 20% off
I'm trying to see what route would give me the best deals.
