Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

Hoping Costco matches and sells this for $600 and I can trade in my OnePlus 6t for $500 and only pay $100 and taxes. Lol, might be asking for too much.
I also have a 6t laying around that would be able to trade.

You can still trade. Go directly through Samsung website. I just pre ordered S20 FE and traded I cracked s10. They will give you a bit less but it's worth it.
I just checked it out. They would give me $250 off, but the phone is still $699. So I would still have to pay $450 out of pocket. That is not... good... How much did you get from them for your cracked Galaxy s10?

I have the OnePlus 7t and I feel the same way. This phone looks better than OnePlus 8 and offers more features. I am planning on paying it off so I can get this instead
They seem very comparable (S20 FE and OP 7T) but my wife has the S20 Ultra and the camera is definitely better on the S20 line than any OP phone in my opinion....and I have owned them all except for the 8 series. So while speed and multi tasking may take a hit with only 6gb of RAM, most everything else here is an upgrade IMO. The last Samsung I owned was the Note 8 and I have loved the Oneplus devices, so I am a little nervous to switch.

Device at the end of offer name meaning, it's TYPE 2, which is for new customers, not existing TM customers.
So "Offer Name: 2020 T-Mobile Insider $200 Off" is type 3?

Thanks for posting this! Already ordered the phone.

Dumb question: If you have a hookup code, do you have to wait for the device to be delivered? or is there a way to use the hookup code directly? In the website, it's asking for IMEI number, hence the question.

Guy sounds like either a troll or just an egomaniac who cant stand being on the same family plan as his parents. Don't come into this thread with your head so high trying to say Tmobile or this deal is a terrible value and generalizing people who are still on their parents plan "ethnic". Why are you paying more for less (MVNOs) just to be on your own plan? If I could still be on my parent's healthcare insurance plan, I 100% would. Who cares what you think is "normal" - I bet most people would rather save money than be on their own phone (or any other service) plan. I know a bunch of mid/upper 30s still on their parent's plan (and no, they are not "ethnic," whatever that means).

I have 12 lines on Tmobile and Im paying around $200 for all 12. (Less if people use less than 2gb a month). This plan consists of my immediate family, extended family, and friends. Because I am making more than my parents now, they are actually on my plan that I fully pay for. Hell, my brother who is a physician, is on my plan and I don't charge him - why? Because its so damn cheap and an amazing value.

Trading in my parents' OnePlus 6t (which they got for $280 each during the 6t's launch trade in deal 2 years ago) for S20 FEs. If everything goes right, they will only be paying taxes on the phone. Hell, they'll even be getting the $70 samsung credit - so they are essentially getting PAID to upgrade to a semi-flagship phone. Can you do that on your MVNO? Yes, the only downside is that we have to stay on our super cheap Tmobile plan for another 2 years to get the full credit. Oh no.

Getting friends/family to pay on time and correctly is easy with Splitwise+venmo/paypal. Honestly, if you don't have friends that can reliably pay you $30-35 a month for one of the best plans out there, you are hanging out with the wrong people.
Yep. There's no shame living with parents either. Wife and I lived with our parents until we got married at 30. Saved a ton of money on rent and now we're almost millionaires with good income and no debt. Saving money > pride or whatever he was talking about.

I ended up speaking to a rep since I wasn't seeing the full 500 on my trade. He was able to waive the upgrade fees and shipping so I only paid taxes on each phone $42. Somehow he also changed my plan to the unlimited $140 mo plan. I had $100 mo for 4 lines 2.5 gb. I missed out on the unlimited deal earlier. Guess I'll wait on phones and try and fix it.
You won't get full $500 on your trade in. You will get the whatever value it is then you get ($500 - value) / 24 months as bill credit. You should cancel and get this fixed right away because your plan was changed. Tell them to revert it back and order yourself.

I mean, $450 for flagship phone specs after trading in your cracked phone? That is still pretty good. Obviously not as good as this but gotta work with what you got. Get an estimate how much it would cost to repair your phone. If you save more money doing that vs trading it in cracked, then figure out if you want to go through all of that

You need the IMEI.

My device is being shipped but I already see the IMEI posted on my t-mobile app. Wondering if it is safe to process the type 3 hookup code right now? Anyone done it yet?

Jealous - if I could, I wouldve lived with my parents as long as I could also, but I moved to a different state. Would make buying a house right now so much easier

REPPED, Thanks for the heads up!
Here are screenshot confirmations that the deal worked out as we all suspected it would.

1. EIP Price of $699 ($29.17 / 24 months) & confirmation of IMEI number.
2. 2020 Samsung Trade P13 Promotion ($500 - $23 for S7 trade in = $477 / 24 months)
3. Tier 3 code confirmation - "$200 off a 5G" registration with IMEI # from EIP page.

.
I see this one for my S7 trade in

Let me get this correct. As long as we preorder before the 30th, I should be able to find a type 3 code eventually (and submit within 30 days) and they will both stack, right?
