I run these or M1 for two oil changes. Roughly 16k - 18k per run. It fits Honda's maintenance schedule and both options are better than he Honda filter.
One of the auto part stores has this same filter but completely coated in the grip stuff now. They're probably fine to use, but they probably heat up a bit more.

Same price at Walmart.com and there's a two pack that gets your price per filter down even lower.
I'm not sure if that maintenance light goes off every 6,000 miles automatically or is it truly telling me that the oil is really need replacement. TIA.
Did you guys notice how cheap these are on S&S w/ 5 items?

FRAM Extra Guard® is rated for the Original Equipment (OE) recommended change interval, meaning it has the capacity to be used for as long as the factory oil change interval stated by the car manufacturer, and is good for use with all oil types and can provide up to 10,000 mile protection.

Here is the 2 pack that you noted or others to buy at $14.76 for 2:

First, "all frams" include some extra guards which are rated for 5000 miles, and certainly NOT rated for factory intervals for some car brands that recommend synthetic oil with 10k or higher oil change intervals.
Back to this passage from Fram - note that it specifies "up to 10,000 mile protection". That doesn't mean that if you run this filter in a vehicle with a 15,000 interval then it will somehow magically extend it's life to the OE interval of 15,000.
I hope you haven't been running 10k mile filters for 20k intervals because it's "rated for OE recommended change interval"...

Generally speaking, as the mileage on an engine increases, you want to change the oil more frequently as opposed to less. As your engine ages, your oil and filter work harder to clean and suspend the crud that's built up over the miles while still maintaining lubrication.
I try to change my oil before my oil life indicator gets close to single digits, because not all miles are the same either. The oil life indicator is an algorithmic estimate that's analyzing the TYPE of miles you drive, not how many—there's not a sensor that's actually analyzing your oil to see how effective it is, the percentage is based on engine operating data.
I don't know about Honda, but GM even reprogrammed their sensors after 2013 to automatically drop to 20% life left after driving 5k miles between changes, possibly as an unspoken admission that longer intervals were problematic as cars got older.
