This is definitely worth considering if you're looking for a DIY Peloton. I purchased it a few weeks ago as a form of home cardio and I'm loving it. If you're moving up from this price point, you're doing so for on-board bike computers & possible built-in screens.

This is one of the more recommended bikes as a DIY Peloton. You're getting magnetic resistance, belt driven, 4 way adjustable seat, & adjustable handlebars. Throw on a cadence sensor + figure out the comparative resistance with Peloton classes and you have yourself a solid DIY Peloton.

I would have considered purchasing a Peloton, but Peloton locks you into a $40/m subscription if you purchase their bike. The same subscription you can access for $12/m if you don't own a peloton product. If you're set on a Peloton and want to save some $$, they will be introducing used models in the near future.

Tempting. We sold our treadmill last year and wife has no where to hang our extra clothes. How many hangers will this accommodate? I couldn't find that in the specs.

This model has magnetic resistance so that shouldn't be a problem.

It's ultimately a preference of fly wheel weight and built in cadence sensor. A heavier fly wheel will provide more resistance and a smoother ride once you get going, but will always cost more money. You can always add a Wahoo cadence sensor later to a bike, but you can't increase the weight of the flywheel.

If you are new to using a spin bike, you probably have no preference on flywheel weight
I think that's partially true but not necessarily always. The resistance comes mainly from the magnets/friction, not really the flywheel. The flywheel is more to simulate an actual bike in terms of momentum and therefore a lot of the "smoothness". Momentum (p=mv) is mass times velocity so it depends on 2 things: weight of the flywheel but also the gearing that determines how fast it spins (in relation to the crank). The very expensive Keiser M3i is considered one of the best bikes out there and its flywheel is only 8 lbs. The difference is it spins faster via gearing to make up the momentum.

Do you have an iPhone/Apple device you're using to monitor? I have a similar Sunny bike, Wahoo sensors for cadence/speed, and Scosche Rhythm+ for HR. But I have a Pixel phone and the Android Peleton app does not allow for syncing with sensors (at least it didn't last time I checked). For this reason, I have to use the Wahoo app (synced to Google Fit), to track my workouts.

EDIT: Looks like you can sync some HR monitors now but no cadence/speed. They list: "Some known devices that work with the Peloton App are: Peloton heart rate monitor (recommended), Bluetooth-compatible Polar heart rate sensor straps, Wahoo Tickr straps." I'm not sure my Scosche HR monitor will work but I can give it a try. Without seeing the cadence though, I'm better off sticking with monitoring cadence/speed/HR on my phone via Wahoo and Peloton Digital on a 2nd screen (tablet/tv/laptop)
Yeah, I have an android phone, but I will be using my iPad for Peloton.

These are the ones I decided to get, but there are other good options too.

I've found that having the heart rate and cadence displayed in the Pelaton app is not worth looking at it on an iPad on the bike and looking down the whole time, I'd rather just watch it on my Roku on my big screen TV and not have the stuff overlaid on the display.

However.... interested to see what Apple's workout thing does and if that connects properly wiht an Apple TV. But I don't think I'd switch from the Pelaton app anyway because Hannah Corbin is my girl right now on that app.

Anyone recommend a seat for these stationary bikes? I always find these uncomfortable.
thats an understatement. it hurts like crazy! especially if you are big guy like me trying to lose weight. i've learned to despise these bikes.

I'm a recreation bicyclist - probably ride a couple thousand miles a year on my road bike (long weekend rides). I don't ride during the winter months for obvious reasons and so I bought the Echelon bike from the Walmart deal a couple months ago. Prior to this, I used to ride a Peloton at the gym for about 45 min 2 to 3 times a week. I think either this or the Echelon are good options. The Echelon has a lower build quality than the Peloton and I imagine the Sunny bike has a lower build quality than the Peloton. With that said, the build quality is still very good and good enough for my needs. If I didn't already buy the Echelon, I would buy the Sunny for the heavier flywheel. At the same time, for me, the lighter flywheel isn't a big deal so I'm keeping my Echelon. Hope this feedback helps those on the fence.

As for the seat - I agree it's not comfortable. After ~30 min, I have to get off to get blood flowing again (if you know what I mean). My road bike is a carbon fiber race bike and it has a more comfortable seat. I've been thinking of swapping seats, but instead have been limiting my rides to ~30 min.

Just to get an idea of pricing, this was down to $389.99 on Amazon shortly after Black Friday last year, when I bought mine. Even under $500, I think it's a good price. Mine came with a slightly tilted seat, and Sunny's customer service replaced my seat after I sent some pictures to show the defect. Everything else has been great.

I have a 22" Samsung curved lcd mounted under the handle bars. Look for a v shaped stand|feet. I use a fire stick and wireless dex to stream the app. I run wahoo on the phone. Look very similar the real deal. Lost 3 lb in 2 weeks and riding every day.

None. The feet slip under the handle bar. It's a perfect fit by chance. I was prepared to drill or try monitor mounts. As stable as the bike itself.

Do you all think there might be a better deal on prime day or should I bite the bullet.
