Good price for the 1% who would need something like this. Gamers would see no difference. Just for those who edit and encode videos or transfer big files on the daily

Nevermind, didn't realize PS5 has an extra M.2 slot.

Agreed. The biggest jump was from spinning drives to SSDs. Subsequent revisions of SSDs are welcome, but not at a premium. On paper this looks great. I'm sure the benchmarks agree too. But real life use for the average Joe...

You're mostly correct. With the PS5 requiring Gen 4, gamers would see a difference there if used in the expansion slot. We just don't know Sony's requirements for their Gen 4 slot yet, so it's too early to make a purchase. Still one of the better prices for this technology from a reputable manufacturer.

No one knows yet. All we know is Sony will require a Gen 4 but we don't know what drives are compatible in the extra storage slot of the PS5. We are all waiting. . .

This is slower then the SSD in Ps5. I think Sony said they would have to be as fast, so I don't think this will work.

For all the ppl asking about if it's ps5 compatible... there's only 2 drives out that is almost certain(1 already made the claim) of being ps5 ready... western digital sn850 and Samsung 980 pro.

It's a niche to be sure.. virtually no laptops can fully use 4.0 and only AMD DESKTOP MOBOS use 4.0 but that's partly Intel's fault. Typical 1tb 3.0 is in the $80-$130 range so not double but this is about the lowest premium you will find on this density ATM.
I got the 2tb sabrent nvme 4.0 in my desktop last BF ($329.99) and haven't looked back. Once my system posts, boot time is 2 seconds.

I'm just happy to see 4.0 prices, and storage prices in general, starting to fall a little. This summer you couldn't even buy a TB of SATA under $100. It was ridiculous
