Just got an email from Redpocket about a flash sale on ebay; more details at the link below.

7 GB/mth at $209.99 for a year (17.50 per month); available on CDMA / CDMAS / GSMA

20 GB/mth at $299.99 for a year ($25 per month); available on CDMAS / GSMA.

Ebay currently has a 5% ebay bucks offer upto 10/22 midnight; offer by invitation only, YMMV. Expired

Go to this link for the info about the RP offers (including a 2GB /mth offer that doesn't look like a particularly great deal..), plus the links to their ebay offers..

I dont see anywhere....is this for new accounts only, or can I re-up an existing RedPocket account with this special sale? I got my MIL on RP last year, and her year is up come December. I'd love to re-up her for another year at this price.
When you go to the ebay offer for the specific plan, you have a drop down that allows you to pick between the networks available, and a renewal (no sim).

Note that if your current plan is on a different network (for example, neither the 7 GB or the 20 GB plans are available on GSMT / T-mo network) - you won't be able to "renew", but you can switch using the sim.

My wife had Ultra and Red Pocket (Tmo both times). The 2G was unusable at both MVNOs after the high speed allotment was used up.
interesting.. Ultra is Mint.

On mint when i'm down to 2G, i just load 1 page at a time.
dont multi-tab till that page has finished loading. (it doesnt take that long since it's mobile mode)

I may get a site to load on occasion but honestly no. I get timeouts more than anything.
sounds like it's 64k/sec (ie: Tello) and not 128k/sec.
64k/sec is unusable. that's why i dropped Tello ($5/month plus unlimited 64k/sec) and went to Mint.

anyone run a speed test on Red Pocket when they're down to 2G speeds?

Is there tethering available on the 20gb plan? For the At&t network?

Yes, I bought their Verizon CDMA service about a month ago. You contact their web chat and they enable it, takes a few minutes. One thing to note is that it will cost you an extra $1 +tax monthly as an add-on to enable Visual Voicemail for iPhones. I switched from another Verizon MVNO and I'm very happy paying $21 per month per device for 5GB service in an annual lump sum. It's saving me hundreds.

Yes you can use these to re-up.
But be careful.
The new plan takes over your existing plan. It does NOT add onto it.
So if you have 50 days or 10 days left on your existing plan and you re-up,
you will loose those days.

If there is one criticism I've got about Red Pocket, it's they don't notify you when your plan expired or is about to expire.
So it takes me a few hours to realize my phone is no longer receiving calls.

Always happy with RP - Nice find OP - do we dare hope for lower during Black Friday? Can't figure the difference between the 2 plans with 1 gig lte - one has unlimited calls, one capped at 1000 minutes... wth? Looks like Mint Mobile is putting pressure on this price point!

I decided not to wait. Also, had a 5% eBay bucks offer to use.
Last year, I paid $195/5GB w/8% eBay bucks.

I've been with RedPocket for 2.5 years or so. GSMA and now CDMAV. RedPocket is a barebones service. It works but as others have stated don't count on the 2g. This new plan is 2 gbs more than the old plan and is enough for me now. I flirted with 5gbs on the last two days of the plan frequently.

GSMA supports wifi calling on many ATT branded phones that also support it. You may not be so lucky with general unlocked phones. Samsungs and Pixels. Also their MMS downstream server is awful. You may not be able to download texts or some you send may arrive hours after you sent them out of order. (Sometimes in the middle of the night). I had several tickets get escalated past them to ATT but never got anywhere.

Finally got fed up had had them move my service to CDMAV and in general have had a better experience. Although there is zero support for Wi-Fi calling on CDMAV. Their texting works as normal.

If you get their CDMAS I believe it does support wifi calling but can't verify that personally. I'm curious about their coverage with this since they merged sprint merged and blended networks with T-Mobile. Might have potential.
Did WiFi calling work for you on CDMAV? I suspect it might work on some Verizon-branded unlocked devices, as even Tracfone doesn't advertise WiFi calling for Verizon, but it works on Verizon-branded unlocked devices. In fact, with a Verizon TracFone card, I enabled WiFi calling on a Verizon-branded but unlocked Moto Z4, and now the option even shows up on an unlocked Google Pixel 4XL.
