I can actually smell the pan pizza from just reading this post.
Screen already small and split screen even worst. I rather have traditional arcade version.
I have been keeping an eye on this for awhile hoping it gets clearance out at $200 or less. This brings out a lot of fond memories i had in the 90s at the laundry mat.

I went to my local store to check it out, And as much as I wanted to buy it I couldn't do it, I ended up buying Legends Gamer Pro SE Tabletop Arcade
Item # 980288326 for $199.

I don't understand why anyone would buy these? Most people I know regretted buying them or keep it in the corner unused as some piece of art or decor for the room. I don't have space for these but if I did, I would only hunt for authentic cabinets or very very good reproductions that are nearly identical. If I had a basement bar would probably go with an authentic TMNT in Time cabinet, SF 2 Turbo cabinet and then like a generic MAME cabinet with 2000 games on it. These things are just tiny and cheap.

As an alternative you might consider the Legends Ultimate Arcade which has 300 licensed games and a 24" screen w/ upright cabinet. Current price $500 but according to the Sam's mailed catalog it will be $450 from Nov. 7 - 15. Link for reference (not yet sale price):
https://www.samsclub.com/p/legend..._product_1
That's a good price! I'm tracking my costs as I build my MAME cabinet. I'm currently at $350 and am still making sawdust. If I had seen this before I started my project I may have gone this route instead. I'm going to end up putting at least $100 of sweat equity into my build before it's all said and done.

EDIT: Looking at the game list on that cab, I'd still want to add an R-Pi with MAME, which would add $40-70 to the total cost, figuring in the computer, SD card, and power supply, assuming the controls could be used with the R-Pi (likely) and the cabinet's monitor could accept HDMI in (questionable).

SECOND EDIT: It looks like you can add your own games to the Legends Ultimate Arcade on USB stick withou needed to add your own computer like the R-Pi. This is a slick deal!

Can anyone confirm if Guile's shadow throw glitch is in this SF2?

Yes, its there. I was able to pull off 3 in a row once. Its a little difficult to do consistently because the controls aren't that great.

Slightly off topic but everyone else is too.

I bought one of these from Microcenter the other day when on sale for $129

https://www.microcenter.com/produ...ckball-usb

It pops open and has a spot to install your Raspberry in. They also sell one for $199 that comes with a Pi, memory card, power supply etc if you need one (I already have a couple).

Plug into a HDMI TV or Monitor into the Pi and instant arcade. The stick also works with windows (usb) but getting it to work with Steam is a whole different issue. It's doable but involves a fair amount of work with stick/button mapping (I hope it's not for every damn game). But for Pi seems fine. I'm still trying to fine tune the trackball for Centipede... and I wish it had a spinner for Tempest but oh well. I think there are only like 5 arcade games that use spinners anyway.

I have this and it is the bees knees. 3000 games loaded on an SSD, plays everything from Pong to Dragon's Lair.
I have five versions of TMNT, including the Streets of Rage 2 mod.

I would rather have this unit instead. It would plug directly into your monitor or TV Thousands of games, and you can tuck it away when it is not being used. That said, there is nothing like a full arcade machine to bring back all the nostalgia. This split screen table top is not my thing, though.

Playing Street Fighter 2 on a cocktail machine is a crime.

Speaking of crimes, can we discuss how bad of a game Street Fighter is? It's amazing that (some of) the sequels are some of the best games of all time.

Interesting. Looks like a knockoff X-Arcade tankstick. And while there are only a handful of games that use spinners, Arkanoid is one of them. Well, most of them, if you count the sequels. I've been meaning to mod my tankstick with one. I don't know how that stick is wired, but you might be able to route out a hole and install something like this [amazon.com]

IDK..
These are not the right games for a cocktail gaming table.
They're best for games like pac man.

Exactly. Pulling off the button movements could shake the unit and knock your drink down

Get a Dreamcast and build a box around it. you can get a bigger monitor like in the old days.

Dreamcast can do real VGA output with the right cable. I have old 32 inch TV with old VGA input and the TV looks true arcade.

These box systems are a rip off due to license issues when you get only a few games. Best to get a box with just monitor and controls and put in your simple computer like pi or those tiny boxes sold now. And I mean a bigger screen using at least a 24 inch monitor.
