I was just trying to help you guys. I agree I should have left a detailed comment instead of two words.My friend got a new pair from Amazon during the sale and found that it was already registered with someone else. Also check the top comments in the below link . Lot of them have experienced receiving a fake one. Even apple store employees have said fake pods have become an issue with Sold by Amazon.

I would rather buy from B&H or Costco.
Currently, fake ones look, feel exactly the same as real ones, including box, packaging and shrink wraping. Chip inside fake ones can pair with iPhone and appear to be AirPod except it doesn't have noise cancellation and provides extremely poor audio quality.
Not worth the risk saving a few bucks buying anywhere other than Apple Store.
After holding a few of the fake ones in hand, there is a noticeable weight difference, there is writing on the official apple ap case and each earbud has a serial number on them can barely read it but it is there. The packaging has apparently serial number and reflective apple logos. Now if you never owned a pair you might not know these things but you can easily spot fakes.
If you want solid product now this is a good price. New ones will just come out more expensive. Interested in what would be so different.
Might be a solid price for the fan boys. AirPods are the worst of the apple lineup.
1. They break right after the warranty
2. Won't stay in the ears
3. Battery life is subpar
I might pay 50 bucks for this. The new version supposed to have no stem. They will slap a hefty price tag on that you're right about that
