Sure thing. Just spread some rep if you can Wink

Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

Can anybody confirm if this curved monitor is not good for using Excel spreadsheets? Somebody mentioned that the curvature distorts straight lines. Also, is anybody using two of these monitors for a dual monitor setup for work productivity?
At a column width of 12, there's over 2000 cells on the screen at once. I personally would say the curve is a non issue, but make your own mind up. My cell phone camera focal length exaggerates the effect, so expect it to be less vertical distortion in person. Around row 10 is closer to what I'm seeing in person.

Newbie question,

Why isn't the LG getting attention?

LG 35" Class Ultrawide Curved WQHD HDR10 Monitor
Item 8356500 Model 35WN65C-B.AUS

Mainly because of LG having higher response time (5ms) and lower refresh (100hz)?

I've decided to give this a try since it's so much cheaper than the Acer 34" IPS 100hz monitor I've been looking at. Still concerned I'm not going to be happy going from IPS to VA, but Costco returns make this worth a try. The only question is whether to buy now and try to get a price match or wait.

Exactly. When it comes to gaming monitors those two specs you mentioned are extremely important, not to mention price as well. Getting a monitor that meets the current standard specs for gaming at a great price point, rarely come around nowadays considering the current climate of the world, with many working from home. Good monitors are in very high demand.

That's up to you.

If you buy now and call up within that 30 day window of November 30th, worst case they say "no" to a price adjustment/refund and you simply order one online that day. Then you have the option to wait till the new one comes to you in the mail before you walk into a Costco store with the opened one that you had to pay $100 more for. This way you aren't without a monitor in the time it takes for the deal date to go live and you get the discounted one in the mail. Pretty much a no-lose scenario with the least risk. This improves your chances and reduces the risk of Costco possibly running out of inventory on November 30th.

*I've personally checked with Costco customer service through chat as well as some other SD'ers calling in to confirm the possibility of a price adjustment. It's never a guarantee but regardless, the only thing for certain is shopping with Costco = the customer is always secure in however they decide to purchase or return their goods (unless they abuse the Costco generous return policies too frequently that is).

Will buying today count within the 30-day window?

You can order on November 1st or later, but not sooner, to qualify for the 30-day price match. Check the math Wink

This is definitely better. Response time on the Monoprice is 8ms with 4 OD while this is half. This is 144hz and the other is only 100hz. Lastly, DCIP3 is a wide color gamut. 93% coverage means its likely 10-20% over 100% srgb, so definitelya better color range.
Yes, but most consumer apps are in sRGB color space. Having monitor in DCI-P3 is gonna be more of a headache for most

May have an srgb mode, but if not can always be calibrated. Will look oversaturated otherwise but the average consumer game will actually enjoy that.
