It has nothing to do with a more powerful motor. The more expensive ones have more cycles and settings, some quite gentle others for gums others for other conditions. Some tell you when to change the brush. You can't brush your teeth for just 15 seconds, you have to be kidding.
There's no motor in the sonicare.
They are piezoelectric.
And maybe you drink red wine and your girlfriend drinks white. that might explain the whiteness. or genetics, dietary habits, saliva makeup, many factors.
15-30 seconds of brushing ain't cleaning nothing.
I'd strongly advise you to brush another two minutes after kissing her.

I just bought this model electric toothbrush a few weeks ago. Highly recommended. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive versions but it has everything you need to clean your teeth very effectively. Pick one up if yours is more than five years old.

Anyone know if this will go down to $25 again? I wanted to replace my 12yr old Sonicare with this but decided on an oral B with they both went $25 last Thanksgiving and that was a terrible mistake.

It might, but this particular model has pressure sensor, li.ion battery, and fits the cheap push on heads. It's well worth $35, IMO. I own it.

I have this model brush. I'm normally the person who doesn't want any bells and whistles. I buy the $250 DLED tv over the $1k OLED everyday.

My girlfriend has a better more expensive Phillips Sonicare brush, that's much more powerful. I brush a solid 2 minutes every time, she brushes for around 15-30 seconds. I've got to say, don't skimp out on these electric brushes. Her teeth are far whiter than mine without any whitenings. We've had the brushes for more than a year.

The ones that are more expensive are so simply because their motors are just more powerful and as a result clean much better. Great price, but if you care about your teeth even a little, wait for a good deal on the more expensive/better models.
