yeah yeah, you can get a used leap for $50 bucks from that sketch used furniture dealer and you're giving up ability to customize, etc But this is the lowest I've seen for a factory-new Gesture. And, instant gratification? vs the typical 10 month+ covid lead time

It's interesting that you are willing to promote a site you are sure tried to commit fraud.
They asked which site, so I answered. Buyer beware. Most used furniture stores are shady af. The attempted fraudulent charge could have been a rogue employee, sure. More likely it's a shitty credit processing system. It's par for the course and why I use virtual cards for everything.
Office furniture center.com (one word). Inventory on good used chairs comes and goes. If you use them, make sure to use a burner card like I did. Mine had an unauthorized charge a month later trying to but gift cards. I know it was the furniture store because the virtual card was created specifically for that chair purchase and deactivated after the order was processed.

Solid deal, thanks, OP.
I bought a Ergohuman $350 chair when WFH started in March. Have regretted not buying their better chair, or something like this, since.

I had been considering the Leap that Amazon also has discounted, but the arm system on the Gesture won me over.
Hope it works out for me.

Looks like a great deal on a new chair, but still hard to stomach.

I will contest the OP's statement about used chairs- steelcase doesn't offer many options so it's easy to get a fully loaded Leap v2 for ~$350 from a shady used furniture store. Even with shipping it only took a week to receive mine in mid-summer.

Imo these nice steelcase, hon, and other $1000+ msrp office chairs are only worth about $500-600 new (with their generally awesome warranties).

How does this compare to the Embody? I have an Embody on order but this looks like a good deal and a nice looking chair.

Amazon has videos on chair adjustments for both - on the Gesture the arms have a wider range of adjustment, or at least it looks like it to me.
The Gesture is also slightly wider than the Leap...which will be good for me...hopefully not an issue for you Smilie
I'm sorely tempted to order both to try side by side, but don't want to have to return one if I can avoid it.

I've had an Embody for years and love it, but I read this a couple months back and it had me wondering.

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2...p-ideas/7/

FTA: "Compared to the similarly priced Embody Chair by Herman Miller, the Gesture is more comfortable and adjustable in every way. From the seat, to the backrest, and even optional parts like the headrest, the Gesture had the Embody beat in all aspects of comfort and adjustability."

Yeah, definitely good advice, and there is a store near me that has these on display, but I'd feel kind of bad using their showroom for a test drive, then not ordering from them. They don't discount from MSRP, so, going with Amazon. If the Gesture isn't a huge upgrade over what I have now, maybe I'll go try a Leap, but I'm hopeful it'll be a good fit for me.

I do wish the version with the headrest was also discounted. Doesn't seem like you can add the headrest later like you can with some of the Herman Miller chairs...oh well, for a savings of $400 I'll build up my neck muscles Big Grin
