You are on the wrong website. You need to move along and visit SlickCraigsBayer.com. Congrats, you just bragged about the little beer money you just earned and robbed opportunities for 8 people who could have actually use these TVs

This is probably better than the Hisense, but not by much. Rtings has reviews on previous models on both. The Samsung is definitely not worth $250 more. I'd say the only upgrade from these that would be worth it would be a TCL 6 series or the comparable midrange Hisense.

I have a TCL 6 series, Hisense from BB, and Onn from Walmart. The 6 series is noticeably better than the other two but not by a massive margin. The Hisense and Onn are almost identical in terms of image quality.

It's insane to me that they can sell quality 4k 65" TVs for this price. Like seriously, the Hisense and Onn look unbelievable for the price.

Just an FYI, TCL Android TV's have had recent news come out that there are vulnerabilities that allow China to backdoor into your TV and access your info. Canceled my other order cause of this.

I was reading not the greatest of things about the tv in that thread. Decided something better may pop up... Any direct feedback?

Pro-tips: Don't connect your TV to the internet, get a streaming stick instead.

btw, your statement has multiple unproven/wrong implications:

1) only TCL TVs have vulnerabilities: wrong
2) the vulnerabilities is made for China: unproven
3) only China would ever exploit that vulnerabilities: don't be naive

Don't over-sensationalize things.

They can sell it so cheap because its a piece of glass with a $5 rasberrypi mini computer running freebie android and shipping from china as long as they ship in volume with 100,000s of units per ship cost is nearly negligible.

I haven't opened mine from last week. I have a 55" in the basement. But it is the 4 series 2019.

This is 4 series 2020 and Rtings gives it lower scores. Specifically there is motion blur whereas the 2019 4 series was good in this dept.

I probably will return without opening. Might throw it on Craigslist for a few days first.

I purchased this the other day when it went on sale. As long as you manage your expectations, it's a great tv. The picture quality of it is pretty good. I had my TCL 6 series and this tv side by side in my living room while playing 4K videos. Although this method was not scientific, I could tell the difference between the two but not by much. You won't be disappointed if this was your living room tv, especially at this price. Just my 2 cents!

To all those complaining about the Android OS...

Go into developer settings (click on "about" in settings 7 times until it says "you are now a developer") and change the three animation scaling settings from 1 to .5 or off. Then change the number of background processes to "at most 4" from the standard default.

Boom. Snappy OS.

Edit - as Slackaholic pointed out you click on "build" 7 times in the about section.
I did this when I got the Hisense android TV because it just keeps on piling the apps one after another without killing them. It was crawling.

I don't think my Roku TV does that piling thing. I believe it kills the app right away when you exit.

So far I'm happy with the performance of my Android TV now. It's just hard for people who just want it to work right away out of the box without going deep into the developer settings.

I got this for the same deal from target last week. Can't beat it for the price. I prefer the Roku OS, but again, for the price, This tv is great. I'm done paying thousands more for a marginally better picture. I start watching a movie and don't even think about the picture after a few mins anyways. If you get this unit, you won't be sorry.

Can you buy now and price match when the sale goes live?
Yes, I've been doing that for some time. Did that with the Hisense 65 from Bestbuy, bought full price and price matched it today.
