Got burned bad by the Tab S2 years ago. The tablets (I had a 10.1" and the 8" versions) were phenomenal for the first year+ but then Samsung throttled the living hell out of it and I've always been skeptical of purchasing their products ever again (My S7 edge plus was severely throttled by them as well around the same time).
Good thing with the S7/+ is that Samsung is including them in their new 3+ year software update policy. OneUI is a world of difference from the old TouchWiz and I think these tablets will be good for a while.

Tried the 11in iPad Pro awhile back and while it was blazing fast it had display issues, both on the original and replacement. Currently have a iPad mini 5 which has a cleaner display, but now that I realize I'm just using it for media consumption/game streaming it's time to go big or go home. S7+ 256gb incoming

Android vs iOS. If you're invested in 1 ecosystem the answer is clear. Speed wise the iPads are faster, but not enough to make a difference
