R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

unable to use the ApplePay method to order more than 2 phones to one household. ended up shipping to another friend. used the code C205HG3HKSUA for 20% off. Trying to get a few more, we'll see.

used sdcomp4less for the port numbers. put Boost, area code, and just state you're porting to cricket in seller notes.he responded within minutes. I suspect people not getting responses are the ones not providing this information. Ignatio only gave me 1 number when I paid for 2.

total costs: ( I bought each number separately as I was testing the waters)
roughly 7.97 x 4 = 31.88
2 lines independently @ 94.99 each
2 lines in joint order 175.98
R@k x 2 for $5

total: 387.98 for 4 phones, 4 months of service.

Received shipping for one, order confirmation for the joint. Oddly still waiting for the 2nd one order confirmation. I wasn't able to figure out how to downgrade the $60 plan to $30, my first account attempt got locked and tried to send a text message to unlock. Plan on trading them in to Apple so hopefully it works.

Okay dumb question - where do I apply code C205HG3HKSUA to get $20 off? Not seeing pop up or any other option during checkout.
At the cart. Not during checkout.

I think you can... just don't do it too late otherwise the $60 credit probably expires.

It'll most likely be $210 + $205 x 3 = $825 and pay the difference. But trade in most likely varies store to store, as I think most Apple employee thinks that normally you would only use one phone to trade in at the time of purchase, not 4 phones.

When purchasing the new iPhone, your trade in value becomes $210. But when doing a regular trade in for gift card, the trade in value is $205.
Then first buy 3 gift cards with 3 SEs and then trade in with 4th SE and pay the remaining balance with same 3 gift cards to avoid being flagged.

Can I just go to store 4 times and get 4*$210=$840 worth of gift cards and then buy any unlocked iPhone without being tied to any carrier. In this way I won't loose $840 –$825 = $15
No... Regular trade in without purchasing an iPhone is only valued at $205. Only when purchasing an iPhone and trading in the device, the value becomes $210. And good luck doing in-store, not sure if the employees will let you do that many phones at once without raising a red flag.

Ordered and received 2 phones in 2 separate orders for $114.11 + $8.5 number each (thanks!).
$250 total, ordered before TAKE20 C205HG3HKSUA and Chase/BoA were posted (don't think they can be applied retroactively).
I'd like to keep the phones and unlock if possible, will downgrade $60 to $30 plan - $5 for autopay ($25).
Is it possible to merge 2 accounts into one to use $120 + $25 referral towards unlocking one fo the phones (5 months +1 extra), or is it better to keep them separate, cross refer and wait for unlock on both phones (3 months + 3 months extra)?
Ordered R-SIM15 from /itm/333155466980 , does anyone have other suggested link?
PM for $25 if you can't find any.

I would just cross refer yourself, but you must get the code before you activate the account... Otherwise the code might not work. And you probably need to keep the sim in the phone active for the unlock countdown timer to work.

Bought a number from ebay (seller: sdcomputers4less). I didn't see option to chose the carrier and input zip code. Is it normal?
