The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

What's the best way to port out a number from T-Mobile Account A and then port in that same number to T-Mobile Account B with this free line promo? What is a good, cheap carrier to port out to for a quick holding period in between the transfers?
I'd like to know this also. My wife started a new T-mo acct with insider discount. I want to cancel my T-mo acct and move to hers. Figuring I can port out my number to GV and link to the new 'free' number.

Is this the best way? Any help with the sequence of steps would be greatly appreciated. Not familiar w/ GV or snags to watch out for. Thx

Thanks for the explanation!
So in my case, I added 1 free line with 3 paid lines in September, then I'm adding this free line in November. Can I cancel a paid line in September of next year or is it November of next year to not lose either free line?

From everything i see on my end, google voice numbers *should* qualify. No promises but they did not specifically exclude google voice.

See above, should qualify.

yes

yes

sprint has their own free line right now that does not stack with any phone promos. check here to see if eligible: https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...on-us.html [sprint.com]

Not on most plans.
Sprint $15 Kickstarter user here and have 2 paid lines, I tried to reserve a free line, but it is asking me to select/switch to a more expensive plan, does anyone have any insights on how to add it to my existing Kickstarter plan?

Can I change my plan and keep my free line or do I need to wait a year to do that too?

You can't cancel any existing line before you get a free line for 12 months, but some people canceled existing line before 12 months they still keep their free line. YMMV

Makes me wonder if we should "get with the times." We are paying about $130 (after tax/fees) for 4 lines (none were free) on "Select Choice FAM UNL TT 50" which seems pretty competitive still, though we continue to miss out on freebies like this.
I've been contemplating this since the last free line deal. I'm don't have an older plan like you but my current plant (T-Mobile ONE All in Promo) only allows a max of 3 lines and I would have to pay $40 per lune if I want to add any lines above the 3 line max for the promo. I guess because I don't really need the extra lines it's no real rush to move from my current plan but I hate not being able to get in on some of these deals. Although I'd be paying more per month to just have the chance to possibly get in on these deals about once a year or so.

If I can find out from Xfinity if they can get me a cheaper package if I remove my Netflix from there then it might make it worth for me to upgrade my plan since it includes Netflix there for the Magenta Plus.

I believe only business accounts can get more than 12 lines. For consumer accounts I believe another account would have to be created, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Welp seems, I am at this limit, what would be the disadvantage of moving to a business account and possible future device or line addition consequences, is it possible to retain all existing promos on current Tmo1 acct? I don't want to start another account, I just don't see the point of that.

So I have FRLTUL2LP which is basically 2 lines all in for $100 with the 20% insider discount that makes it $80. I added my girlfriend so now I have 3 lines for $120 after discount. Should I stay on it and keep missing out on these deals or change it?
Switch it right now its 120 for 3 lines and ull get the 4th line tomorrow for 4 lines for 120

so technically if you have a backup phone lying around and you are eligible for a free line, then it's 200$ in free money for adding the line and activating it. this is provided, you are planning to not make any changes with your existing lines for the next 12 months..

Have you ever done at Costco? Do you know, if T-Mobile account name and Costco membership must match?
Quote from TyP :
I currently have 8 lines. Will it mess up my account adding the free one?

I'd love to do this at Costco for the $200 gift card, but I'm worried about losing my other promotions. Thinking it may be better to settle for the $100 from T-mobile and have one of their reps add it (if it's even possible with my plan)
