The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

It was free for me. And still is. And I've been in a grandfathered plan for years. Didn't change mine. Aorry about yours.

I think it may be the fact that USCFM4 might be the cheapest plan that has unlimited data with no video throttling, i.e. you can stream 1440p, 4k, etc video on your phone with no downgrade in quality. I'm not sure if those other cheaper plans have that with 4 lines. If that's not worth it to you then maybe look into finding a cheaper plan. Main reason I stay on this plan though.

Could be. Didn't think about that. So far I haven't seen any plan that comes close to what I have. Maybe the now defunct Amp plan but it wasn't exactly the same thing.

You cannot get a kickback from a free line. What I do on my phone is use my free lines as data on my phone so I can get kickback. With iPhones you can have multiple lines on your phone.
That's not always the case. My current config definitely gets kickback on free lines. I even get kickback on free line when I had the original 2 plus 1 free way back when it all started. But they eventually removed that after a few months.

We'd love to combine in to 1 account but neither of us want to lose our number, do you happen to know if that's even possible?
Yes you can move numbers/lines from account to account. Call customer care and ask that you want to do a COR (Change of responsibility). You have to decide on who's account you want to be together in and which one is going to cancel . Most likely you'll have to update your plan. By doing a COR they can also move any eip financing a line might have.

I have kickback on all my free lines and I never received kickback. Not sure how you got it to work.

Thank you! I actually remember we've tried this before. The only comparable joint plan they can switch us in to is actually more expensive than our existing plans unfortunately.

So a couple of warnings from the last time this promo popped up, based on comments from that last thread and my own experience:

1. Some folks claim you can just sign up online and you will magically get the promo, bypassing the $20 Assistance fee. You do still have the pay for the $10 Sim card no matter what. This might be true in many cases.

But, it turned out this wasn't always the case. Some users got stuck with a regular additional line with regular charges. Maybe they didn't qualify for the promo, though by all accounts they should have. They couldn't get it added retroactively either.

2. If you have to pay taxes and fees on your lines, you'll still have to pay them on your "free" line.

3. I have a grandfathered simple choice plan and most on my family plan have a free 4gb data plan. That's no longer available so the free line got charged with a $15/month data plan. After some discussion with Tforce they were able to fix that though I had to pay a pro-rated month of that. Others were NOT able to get that reversed for some reason! A free line without data is fairly useless.

The bottom line is you may want to chat with T force to ensure you will get what you think you are getting. If the rep has no idea of what this promo is, make them find it. You can often ask them to waive the Assistance fee if you are nice about it. And despite all that, you still may have some surprises.

Note that you cannot do a COR for a grandfathered plan. A new, currently available plan will need to be started. I ran into this problem trying to switch the account holder from my father to me, after he kept making very stupid account changes without consulting with more tech savvy users.

That's good for you and the way it should be!

Definitely did not happen that way for many of us unfortunately. There were like dozens of SC plans and that only complicated things I'm sure.

This link tells you if your number is eligible for Port-in. It does NOT tell you if you qualify for the port-in promotion. 2 separate things, my friend . Smilie

Didn't use to but they move me to Magenta plan and I lost all my Promos. I asked them to move me back and then I ask to if they can give me my original Promos on my 3 lines and apply to all lines and they did. At first I thought I got kickback on all of my lines but after hearing JoshytheGreat18 explain how it works, it looks like my last 2 free lines doesn't get kickback.

True 😀 GV has worked with previous promos before, so i don't see a reason why it should not work for this one 🤞🏻
