The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

I am confused with what all I read .. sorry I am noob. Can some one explain me how this works ?

I add line in Costco - do I need to give them Byod imei # to Costco ? Don't they give me a phone # immediately ? How can I port in another phone # via tforce into the same line when costco already gave me a phone #?
Quote from BigB89 :
Will google voice work for port in ?
You need to provide the BYOD IMEI. Once they add a line, you will get a new number for that line. If you port-in at Costco, your added line will the port-in number.
If you decide to port-in later, you will initially have a number that was created at Costco, and will be replaced by the port-in number after the transfer is completed.

GV is not in the list of exclusions, and should work. No one knows for sure yet, and the 2 promos may not stack either. I used GV for port-in and hoping for the best.

I have the Simple Choice 6GB Family Match Plan for $120 (SOC: 6FMSC4).

Chat agent confirmed plan qualifies for free line. I also wanted to port in number from Boost Mobile and get the $100 rebate but agent said Boost Mobile does not qualify for port-in promo. Can anyone confirm this?

Not true. I just did it one hour ago at Costco
It's my 12th line
I got my 9th line added (5 paid 4 free now). Took a long time and they changed my plan from tmo one to magenta. I had to chat back with another agent and she changed it back and added the kickbakcs on to my accounts. Hopefully it's all good now, will find out next bill.

Just got my free line! Applause

Background:
  • My SOC is ZTM1TI2 and shows up in the eligible list
  • I have the T-Mobile One plan with 2 paid lines and 1 free line

Here's what I did:
  • Direct messaged T-Mobile force through Twitter. Their handle is @TMobileHelp
  • Got connected with a specialist
  • I asked if my plan was eligible for free line promotion - YES
  • I asked if I would have to pay for additional fees and taxes - NO
  • Got asked if I was interested in new phone - NO
  • Got asked if I had an extra SIM card
  • I had two old ones that did NOT work. They put it in their system and they showed as terminated.
  • One of my phones (iPhone XR) supports eSIM, so the existing number got transferred to the eSIM which freed the physical SIM.
  • The new number got transferred to the SIM. This saved me the cost of a new SIM card
  • Made calls to and from in both phones and they worked
  • Had to give my credit card to verify my identity
  • Got reassured that my bill would stay the same
  • Now my plan is 2 paid lines and 2 free lines
  • It shows as $0.00 under the new line on the Tmobile website

The whole process took a couple of hours since they don't reply on twitter immediately. And it would have been a lot quicker if I had a working additional SIM card.

Let me know if you guys have any questions

So after talking to a CSR...I was able to navigate through their system and was able to get the free line and S20 FE for $99 combo.

I'm waiting for my account to be updated to reflect the promo code. Crossing finger. The rep said she "guarantee" I am able to do it. The phone is shipped and she'll call back to review my account and make sure everything is good.

Spoke with tmobile rep in chat...yep, promo to add a free line worked. Note, I had to pay for the sim card ~$11.

Boost mobile uses the T-mobile network, so that's probably why it doesn't qualify

Chat on phone app and the rep said $99 Galaxy S20 FE is applied for the free line offer. I don't know if it was true or not. Anyone confirm?

Sorry...new to this T-mobile rebate thing. Do I have to fill out anything? I can't seem to find the form. Or is it automatic?

  • Google Fi
  • DISH
  • i-Wireless
  • Kajeet & Kajeet IOT
  • LycaMobile Plus
  • Plintron
  • Republic Wireless
  • Simple Mobile (TracFone)
  • PWG
  • Tracfone
  • Walmart Family Mobile
  • Ultra

What do I say at Costco to get the free line and make sure it's free? Is there a promo code for this?
