The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

Login to TM --> Go to Accounts tab --> Expand cost details (https://my.t-mobile.com/account/cost-details), [t-mobile.com] you should see 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines).

Well, this will get buried since this thread is up around 100 pages now, but if anyone finds this and ended up getting the line and ordering a new SIM through chat, this might ease some anxiety.

The chat rep said the new line would be added, but I didn't see anything for a few hours (7-8?). I did get an email with the order confirmation showing the charges, but it said that the SIM would ship between the 25th and 30th. I assumed that I wouldn't see the line in my account until the SIM shipped.

Anyway, when I just checked my account, I see a new line and number on my account, and no increase in monthly cost. I don't know where to see if the promo was applied, but I figure it must have been since my cost remains the same.

Now I feel better that I received the free line, and I'm not going to have to cancel this.
Last time around there was a specified requirement that bring line from selected carrier and get $250 BYOD. This time T&C doesn't seem to include that text, so I guess, GV should work.

Anyone know if porting a google voice number qualified for the $100 rebate? I asked tforce and they said a google voice won't qualify for $100 rebate.

I work at the Costco kiosk
1) just because it says flex pay doesn't mean you are actually on flex pay not sure why system does that
2) when we try to activate a line in our system it pops up a box which just means I call our special support number and call in the add a line
3) I called in at least 3 of these today and didn't take that long but does take longer then if we didn't get the flex pay message
4) my store checks for any lines canceled or ported out within 90 days or lines that collected a rebate then canceled and we got charged back if so then we can't activate the line and would have to be activated with Tmobile
I haven't cancelled or port out lines on my account at all. I applied for 2 costco rebates (BYOD $100 each) in September and still haven't received them but these are my permanent numbers so I'll wait and see.
My rep said if t-mobile add the line then costco lose sale and the rebate form can't generate. Also, the rep on the special support line didn't seem to understand the situation, or even understand english well, and told us we needed regular CS after 1 hour on the phone. It was pretty bad. Seemed like all reps I spoke to tonight are not located in the US and repeated from scripts. I was among the last to leave the store. Feel so bad for the kiosk rep.

I called and the rep helped me through the process of adding the FREE line. Anybody know what the "SC 6GB DATA & SMHS" is all about? I don't want anything added to my bill when this is a free line. Thanks!

Okay guys here was my process this morning:

1. Call 611 ask them about the "Free line promotion"
-if they don't instantly answer yeah i know about that save yourself time and "accidentally disconnect"
2. Ask them if i can port in a number(answer is yes)---this is optional
-they will ask for account number and pin(i did cricket and to make sure it went through without a hitch i changed my pin this guarantees that you are going to give them the right pin
3.Have a sim card either from apple store or other means
-having a sim card makes it faster(you don't have to wait for sim to arrive)
-makes it cheaper(you won't have to pay for sim[apple store gives them away free])
4. In your tmobile Account tab ->Click on your "monthly total >" and it will show you your applied promotions
-$20 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines) is what you are looking for once that pops up you are good to go with the free line.
5. If you ported go to https://promotions.t-mobile.com/ and start your submission process don't lose the tracking ID

Done.

How?
the rep said the system have to record the sales in order for the $200 to be validated. It has to have the sales order # to be entered into rebate site.
i think he was just doing that to shoo us (the trouble) away. i have no idea if it's going to work or not, but imma try it anyways. if it doesnt work then ill just have the free line only lol. wasted so much time already Frown

my free line and sim card was processed this morning.. The supposed free line only showed up tonight on my account when the sim was shipped but then my plan went up as well by $20 and I dont see the promo. The agent via chat said that it would take 72 hrs for the promo to be added on my account is this correct? Is there a code for this promo that I could give so that they can check if its really pending on my account.

I had the same thing..about acct being flex pay. Do you have business plan? Thx
I have regular magenta plan. I was able to add free line and paid lines in September without any problem. Those lines are still active now. My account just suddenly turned flexpay.

I can't find it anywhere in the app either. Open this link in your browser (phone or desktop) and you'll see the promos listed there: https://my.t-mobile.com/account/plan-details

Ebay sellers are jacking up the porting number price now. I got it for $6.5 last round but can't find anything for under $10 now.
Yep all jacked prices. I bet google voice works but I don't wanna risk it

Always give it a day or two for things to work their way through their system. It's a little unnerving to not see the promo confirmation immediately, especially when it shows up immediately for others, but don't think about it for a day and have faith that it'll all be OK.

I went to Costco to add the free line, but no go for me, as i am on simple choice flex plan? the Costco kiosk wont even let me add paid line, it prompted to call tmobile directly. so weird. what is flexpay? i am on postpaid and last free line promote was fine too.
Had the same flex pay issue. Rep called T- Mobile. Ported the unlocked Google Voice Number. He printed the rebate form and all done.
