phoneArena.com posts an article indicating an upcoming Xfinity Mobile Google Pixel 4a 5G discount. From Dec 14 - Jan 11, Xfinity Mobile will offer $250 off. (https://www.phonearena.com/news/X...s_id128484)

On a 3a and Xfinity mobile so this would be an easy upgrade for me if I just have to pay in full and get a $250 giftcard.
What is considered a "New Customer"? Already have other Xfinity services, but not on the mobile plan currently. Can I get the gift card if pay off immediately and not have to do bill credits?

Depends if u value a pure software android experience and frequent updates
exactly! some think it's all about the best specs. all depends on how you use the phone though. but for most, they would not notice any difference in performance between a mid spec'd processor vs the high end. but they will notice a lot of money gone their bank account.

I cant imagine if they are a Verizon MVNO why it wouldn't be the UW version, but cant seem to verify this either, says 5G coming to device in software updates later in the year
The UW version is reported $599.99, so it is unlikely to be that version.

Really wish they carried the Pixel 5. Hopefully they will soon and add this promo for it.
For real! I wonder if you can get an Unlocked or Verizon Pix5 and it'll work on Xfinity? Confused

Xfinity mobile has done two different type of deals in the past. New line of service with port in number, where you get bill credits for 24 months. And then gift card for upgrading a line currently on your XM account. We don't know if this deal will offer both yet. When on XM website right now, some deals are new line only and some such as iPhone deal is new line or upgrade. See details below if they offer both (which is the current iPhone offer).

Offers end 1/4/2021 and only available while supplies last. May not be combined with other offers. Not valid with prior purchases, returns or exchanges. $250 Off: Requires purchase of new iPhone, excluding iPhone SE 64GB, 24 month Xfinity Mobile Device Payment Plan Agreement ("Device Agreement"), activation of new Xfinity Mobile line and transfer of phone number from another carrier within 30 days of phone purchase date. Device credits applied monthly to your account over 24 months so long as Device Agreement is in effect. If line is canceled, voluntarily or involuntarily or device payments are accelerated, balance of credits associated with device payment are forfeited. $250 Back: Requires upgrade of an existing Xfinity Mobile line to an iPhone and activation within 30 days of order. Existing phone must be paid in full if eligible phone is purchased online or pre-ordered. At least 50% must be paid if purchased at an Xfinity store, and an upgrade fee may apply. Must maintain Xfinity Mobile line with an account in good standing for 90 days following phone purchase. Visa Prepaid Cards are issued by MetaBank®, National Association, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa® U.S.A. Inc. This card can be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. Prepaid card mailed to Xfinity account holder within 16-18 weeks of phone purchase and expires in 180 days.

And you must have Xfinity Internet service to get Xfinity Mobile service. If you cancel your Xfinity Internet service and continue using Xfinity Mobile, they charge an additional $20 per line of phone service each month.

A new customer would be anybody who is adding mobile service.

This deal has not been authenticated yet but the assumption being made in the OP is that you can pay it off and get a gift card mailed to you if a existing customer.

I have both the A71 5G and the 4a 5G. The only thing two things that I like on the A71 are the battery and screen. Software, camera, and speakers are better on the Pixel. There's too much additional work you need to put into a Samsung phone to achieve that "stock" look. There's also the bloatware you can't really remove unless you do some adb commands on the computer. Pixels just generally work straight out of the box.

Exactly, vanilla Android runs so smooth even with mid spec hardware.

Had Xfinity mobile for 2 years unlimited plan. They throttle you big time had to use a VPN just to watch twitch or YouTube I don't live in a high populated area. Switched back to Verizon prepay unlimited and it's night and day difference. Just my 2 cents

Greater 5g connectivity for Verizon and their MVNOs
Am I misunderstanding, or would it only be useful if your carrier is Verizon?

Regarding mmWave? Yes, that's my understanding. I think only Verizon using it in US. Someone correct me if wrong plz.
