I have a feeling that this will be a lousy bill credit. 🤔

This deal has not been authenticated yet but the assumption being made in the OP is that you can pay it off and get a gift card mailed to you if a existing customer.
And this is a BIG assumption.

Only if OP's assumption proves to be true...(and you have one of eligible BYOD phones, or know a workaround)

I am with you on this.

I really, REALLY hope the OP's assumption is correct, but I really don't think history -- or the current Xfinity promo landscape -- supports this.

History: I have been following Xfinity Mobile and its promos for over two years. They are running some sort of promo all of the time, and they cycle between brands (Apple, Google, Moto, LG, Samsung). I am pretty sure that in that time, there have only been about 3-4 promos (out of, probably, dozens) that were available for existing customers. I seem to recall all but one of them were for Apple, with the lone exception being a Samsung promo about two years ago that only worked on flagships.

Currently: Of the promos listed in the PhoneArena article, three (involving 4 brands) are currently active. Only one (yep, Apple) works for existing customers.

Conclusion: While I certainly will be monitoring, I am not optimistic this deal will work for existing customers. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong.

I definitely am not counting on it. But the deal has my attention for sure and I absolutely would upgrade from my 3a if I can get this for $250 ($500 - $250 visa card) and no bill credits.

My 3a is still doing just fine but that would be a worthy price and upgrade opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Is this for sure true? If so, I'm not sure why they would have this page [xfinity.com]. I actually am wondering this now as I want to sell my iphone SE (2020) that I just got the upgrade rebate for. Not having to unlock would make the process easier, but I was under the assumption I would have to (I think I read something about putting in the Xfinity SIM is what initially locks the phone).

I bought iPhone XR from xfinity 2 years ago but I had to request my phone to be unlocked when I switched service provider

is there an easy way to port in a new line to receive the discount? i am wondering if someone has a shared data plan, can the new line just hibernate to receive the promotion?

No thanks. The deal for Samsung A71 is still better as it is cheaper and specs wise it is better https://www.phonearena.com/phones...1395,11401
Isn't the camera just slightly better on the google pixel 4a 5g?

Especially in low light? I need to take a lot of pictures for my work and always indoors where there is no natural sun light

This is what I was told when I contacted Xfinity. But to your point it looks like there may be a process to officially get them unlocked.

The rep told me they sell nothing but unlocked phones.
