I checked on internet and found that Apple allows only 8 gift card at a time. Not sure if its true.
(they did have the M1 Air for $949 for very briefly, but now it's OOS, I'm sure they will come back)
The takeaway: the 8GB M1 MacBook Pro is more than enough for everything except the very most cpu-intensive tasks. And even then it's often on par with the 2020 intel-based iMacs. By all accounts, it's consistently faster than the previous Intel-based MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM.
Edit: sorry, this video was for a MacBook Pro. Not MacBook Air. Will leave this post up in case it's still helpful as it's the same chip.

People have said no, but you can click and configure to get 16 GB of ram... but it's the same price at apple
iPad Pro has a touchscreen, better cameras and lidar. Much more tech in the iPad Pro.
