I wouldn't go that far but this does have all the specs to make it a great laptop.

It had everything I look for in a laptop:


Small screen
1080p
Backlit keyboard
Pentium or better CPU
Lightweight
SSD
Good brand

It even has some type of numpad

This is good way for me to get a lighter laptop and sell the ancient y700. Thing is too heavy.

But I'm not good with Linux yet, I'll screw up and brick the OS.

If you watch the teardown video linked earlier, you cannot see a RAM slot anywhere. I agree with the video conclusion that you *cannot* upgrade the RAM in this machine. Too bad! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAYmQYkMaFQ

That said, I think the "8GB minimum" attitude is a little overblown. With SSD storage, 4GB can be workable. Just try to keep the bloatware to a minimum. Thank goodness we don't have every person installing "Weatherbug" or similar on every computer these days anymore. Of course now, they install worthless weather browser extensions instead. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Yeaa just watched some Indian guy video l, meh would be awesome to upgrade but 4 gig is good enough for me, might reverse the OS to something lighter. Cheapest backlit 1080 I could find

These were you had to boot-up from stick always are you saying they are bootup without the stick when you install it?

Let.me.know if you find out for this model, they literally have 8 different type of screens for this thing omg. Even ifs the entry level 1080 non ips ( which might be the case,considering low price and low specs = entry level screens imo) still a killer deal for good brand, backlot keyboard and 1080. It's all 720p at this price point so far and none of the other perks. And most important, YOU CAN BUY IT, not like those other beautiful deals that I can't find or buy =\
