I'm guessing military plans are ineligible?
I have the T-Mobile ONE Military plan. The SOC is TMSERVE2. It was not available for this promotion the other times it was offered.

For those asking, definitely used a free line a while back for a tablet.

Wonder if I can activate a new 5G Mobile Hotspot using this free line...?? I know, a stretch!

Hmm what's the plan code for the T-Mobile one 9-12 ?
I believe its "FRLTULFM9" . Last time they converted me on "FRLTULFM9" to add 9th line. Its not true that after 8 line one has to convert to Magenta.

What are y'all doing with these free lines? Assuming letting friends or family use them?

I was told by the rep the free lines can be converted to a DIGITS line at no cost.
And DIGITS allows you to use on Apple Watch or iPad?

You can't use a tablet line for a hotspot. However you can find some modems that are not sold by T-Mobile that you might be able to use a voice or tablet line and it works.

Is there a list of eligible SOC?

Mine is FRLTUL2LP - wondering if I will be able to get a free line this time. I have always been missing on these offers.

Is it really free tho? I did it a few months ago and they charged me tax which in Cali is 3 bucks
Yup, I been paying the tax to keep the line which is a win-win since I can give the other line to the family member who needs it, makes sense if you have unlimited everything

Yes. I added a free line last month and practically interrogated the rep on all the scenarios I could think of since I'd never done one of these free line things before. She said it ships out with a SIM. But 6 months, 12 months or years later I could convert that line to a DIGITS line, absolutely free, which would allow me to use with Apple Watch or another wearable at no extra costs. I was blown away by flexibility.

I'm now considering dropping my paid DIGITS line and converting the one I added and then adding it to my Apple Watch.
