Is the deal up now? My SOC is in the eligible list but when I go to my account and add a new line, it is still charging me $10 for sim and $20 per month. Am I missing something?

That's normal. The free line promotion doesn't show up when you add a line online. If your plan qualifies, it'll pick up automatically by their system. In the past, text and online confirmation of the promotion shows up when the sim card ships and a phone number is assigned to the new line. You will be charged $10 for the SIM card when adding a line online.

Just got out of Costco in CA. Its $100 from Costco with freeline from T-Mo. As I have already 8 lines on Magenta, Costco rep had to call T-Mo to allow more lines. I didn't port. Its a new line. No charge for SIM or no other processing fee.

And I bet it's very illegal. Maybe not from the FCC which has some control over cell carriers, but certainly by T-Mobile which has employees on SD. I wouldn't risk losing my entire TMO account by scamming them.
This isn't Netflix or a streaming service. The owner of the line can do as they see fit with it. It's strange you would even consider it being illegal. It's perfectly legal as it's your line and you can charge money for it to someone across the country if you want.

How much does each line come out to? I have two non-T-mobile lines I am interested in porting and joining with someone's plan if each line comes to around $15 to $17. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Added a line at Costco. The system only had a $100 Costco card promo for BYOD. Hope T-Mobile "Line on Us 4" gets added!

Totally depends on the myriad plans, discounts, and number of current lines each person has. Some people have inhuman discounts, like 8 lines for 80$. I pay $190 for 7 lines, which comes out usually to $160 because of kickback. I don't complain because I have one plus promo on every line and TMO Tuesday gives me a few bucks back every week.

If you want to play the splitting bills game, best to go with something like Visible

Yea def not illegal. T-Mobile knows people routinely do it and even listened and made it more convenient like 6 months ago by adding a Wallet where you can save up to like 10 credit cards for making multiple payments every month. It's was a pain before that.

I'm not sure if I would trust some random person on SD with your phone #. You lose all control of that number and you're at that person's mercy if they end up being unreliable. If you go this route, consider porting your number to Google Voice and using it that way. Good luck.
