I added a "free line" in September and had to call every month since then because they keep charging me. Let's see if it's fixed this month.

I've done GV twice now - but that's GV to T-Mobile - and it's good so far
But T-Mobile to GV never done it
I have done T-mobile to GV a couple weeks ago. It will cost you $20, and the port will take almost 24 hours from the time you request. You still can use the phone on Tmobile up to about 30 mins before the transfer.

I had 2 free lines laying around on my account and brought my parents over to my account.

They were already T-Mobile customers and the first rep was able to bring their lines over to my account, but killed my 2 'free' lines in the process. I had to make another call back and wait for a truly wonderful rep to cancel my parent's ported in lines, re-activate my 'free' lines with promos and then do a phone number reactivation so they didn't lose their phone numbers.

So yes, it is possible, But it has the potential to be a huge pain.
Appreciate that insight. Might give it a try..I'll see

I don't think the 55+ plans are eligible. Has anyone gotten a free line with this type of plan?

I got the free line (I'm on Simple Choice) This is my 7th free line I get from Tmo. I only pay for two and have 9.
This was stackable with the $500 off a Samsung 5G phone with trade-in promo. Unfortunately my son did not want to let go of his LG 7 backup phone to get a $4+tax A51 5G.

If you find your SOC eligible and it is still charging you $20/month when you add online, give T-Mobile a call and they'll fix it for you.

BTW, they are charging $10 for the SIM.

Recorded calls or messages doesn't change anything. It's up to the customer to fully read and understand the terms and conditions that they're buying into.
I disagree that is entering into a verbal contract
I bet of you were told the line is free and got charged and filed a report with the BBB you would get it resolved

Lots of people got told they qualify for the free line on Reddit, then the bills were generated in the line was always charged and never stuck. People have been fighting it for months. Most of the resolutions I see is a 6-month Bill credit for the line. Max. That's it. It's actually very common. The reps aren't always fully informed of all the deals and are not held accountable for anything.

Is the link to the SOC codes page dead? I can't access it.

Has anyone with Magenta 55+ been able to get this free line?
I found a link to eligible SOCs in an article about this deal:

I called t-mobile. They were great and confirmed I was eligible. I then completed the transaction on the phone with them for 30.00. I know cheaper online, but was worth confirming eligibility.

Wow you really played your cards right. Can I ask how much you pay with taxes then each month? Also which SC plan are you on? Thanks.

Definitely not new at this. This is my fourth free line. The rep clearly stated it did not require a trade in. I repeat. NO TRADE IN REQUIRED. We will see how the bill lands and deal with it if it is wrong. My faith is with T-Mobile. They have been great.
Can you at least confirm which Promo (name) have they applied? That way it should be clear if there is any such promo in the first place or was it just a 1 of manager-approved-refund or something like that?

Is there any downside to adding more lines besides the extra taxes and regulatory fees for the line each month, which is a few dollars extra per line?
More numbers for them to contact you with about your car's expiring warranty
