Can I port my dad's number onto the new free line without additional fees?
Once you add the free line, you can't get rid of any existing line on the account for 12 months in order to keep the line free going forward. You can port in a phone number to replace the number assigned to the new free line w/o any cost.

So if dad's number is already one of those on your existing T-Mobile account, the answer is no right now. If dad's number is on a different T-Mobile account, there might be a way but I don't know what that is (possibly port out and then port back in if there's no direct way). If dad's number is on a non-T-Mobile account, it should be pretty straightforward to port that number onto the free line of your account.

I think you have to wait 90 days after you port out of T-Mobile and back into another T-Mobile account

Update:
Called in and rep was nice to make adjustment of $30 credit. And they are trying to fix it. Hopefully will get an update tomorrow.
What plan are you on? It looks like latest plan Magenta is usually successful for this promotion.

I know that's the 90 day wait applies to port out and port back in of the same number to the same T-Mobile account. However, I don't believe that this applies for porting out of one account and porting in to a completely different T-Mobile account (under a different SSN). Not that this is definitive proof but here's a reddit thread where this is brought up:

yes, deal is still on. What you see is correct. Just accept it and submit.
Then the line will become free.

Sorry I'm late to the party but when I add a line online, it shows $10 for SIM and $20 for the line. Do I just continue to payment and I should receive the monthly credit? Or proceed and try the Costco trick of removing data then re-adding it?

My plan is an eligible plan (2 lines and one "2020 Line on us 2" from a few months ago).

Thanks!

edit - looks like Blitz just answered a similar question above - just add it and it'll show up. I'll try it!

This is normal. $10+tax for SIM and the monthly cost for additional line in your plan. If you qualify, corresponding offsetting credit will appear on your account.

To port in from Boost, easiest to call in. You'll the need Boost account #, Boost phone # to port in, and Boost account PIN. Just give these three info to customer service and phone number of the T-Mobile line you want to replace (i.e. the new free line's phone number). The port happens pretty painlessly and quickly (minutes of not almost immediately at least in my experience).

I've been trying to find out myself. A lot of what I've read is to do the 90 days wait and port back. Also ask customer service and they said it was ok and that it didn't matter. Only lose the free line if you cancel lines. Didn't want to take the chance tho. Hopefully someone can chime in.

My soc is MGAMP2. Magenta amplified plan. I messaged a rep and they said I'm not eligible. Is this correct?
