insider hookup is different than kickback. It's highly YMMV, but I had Hookup added to existing account in October. . .during a time when Hookup promo wasn't running no less. It was from exec care. . .and they were able to add the hookup, but not the FLOU after promo period ended that should have been added as they couldn't get her account started due to Former Sprint Curse in a timely manner(FLOU was wife's account). . .so evidently Hookup codes can be had at any time, if you go high enough up (and they think you "deserve" it)
So what was your reason to get hookup code added while there weren't any active hookup codes around?
I want to try that, too, but thought to ask for it when there are some around.

Another thing you can try is to chat on tmobile with a rep. That is how I did mine. You can do it either via the app on your phone or via the web browser on pc
After a very long chat (many minutes between each message which I assume is normal as they work), I was approved to do what GreenCreature437 suggested in changing plans and moving over all the features/promos. So hopefully the billing and everything else works out as described in the chat.

I really appreciate all the help from everyone, especially GreenCreature437 for suggesting this. Being a bit cynical as I am sometimes, now that I'm on a plan which can accept these free line promos, watch there not be any more free line giveaways or FRLTULF2 start to be excluded. Hope not.

BTW, is the Netflix promo something that's permanent or is it possible that might be taken away later? Another line for $20 more is OK but not great all by itself, but when you throw in Netflix then it's well worth $20 more.

For those of us who subscribe/pay for Netflix already, is there a guide somewhere how we activate the $10.99 (or $13.99) savings from T-Mobile to reduce the Netflix bill?

It shows when I login under add promos, also should def. be on the bill.
Yes. Before I was kick off Kickback I see the Kickback option as an add on on almost all my lines.
One hopeful thing is that an agent who tried to add it back said it is now under Kickback BAN (billing account number) according to her notes.

Yes free free free, that's what $D is about, and we know through the grace of reps the 20% can be added on a dime even if it's not ongoing rare but real.
Well actually going to try and do this tomorrow atleast to get the plus I'll just say I haven't seen it yet or something and the rep forgot from yesterday.

Might give it a go tomorrow at some point. To see if I can add that. It is absolutely crazy what reps can do stuff and what reps can't. I remember back in the day tmobile had a retention department. I doubt that exists anymore. They were the most seasoned operators.
To get it when Hookup promo isn't currently running is highly YMMV. . .the exec care rep had been calling me each evening for 2 weeks. . .in efforts to clear up my "sister's" account situation in opening an account. We went into TMO store, tried online, chat, and T-Force the day before the Septmeber FLOU2 +BYOD$250 promo started. . .and nobody could get her account started. By the time exec care got the account open we couldn't get FLOU on that account. . .and at that point I asked to just throw the Hookup on my account (since rep had already added Hookup to sister's account) and I would just put her lines on my account. Exec rep then had to go further up to request a Hookup code for us, which took her several days.
Just saying, it might be impossible to get a casual Hookup right now (Covid jokes and related fallout aside lol).

But it might be fruitful next time they have a hookup promo to try and get a rep to add a Hookup code to your account. You can even provide the hookup code to them. . .and maybe they're multi tasking and they don't notice you're not "eligible" and it sticks

Don't make that mistake strike while the iron is hot, this way you can just claim it doesn't show on the account and if they can add it...soc: TM1PROMO

Great. So glad it worked out for you, too.

There is a support doc for Netflix on us. It seems you can transfer an existing account over to T-Mobile but it "can take up to 2 billing cycles". I almost feel this is one of their canned responses to everything. Wink

Added my new line on the 27th. Got notified today was switching me to a new plan since my T-Mobile One plan was obsolete. Now my bill is up $35!!!!! Frustrating since I verified with T-Mobile support I was eligible for the free line. I will drop T-Mobile if they don't switch me back.
Yep similar thing happened to me. They said I'm eligible for the free line and then messed up my family plan. My bill the next month was up $60. So frustrating..

Yeah same here. needgeech's case was very special and unique and the hookup code was provided to make up some of the previous issues.

They should be able to revert it. We just proved in a couple of posts that people can still be switched to eligible ONE account.
You might want to ask for a hookup code in compensation for the mess. 😉

Thanks. That'll give me something else to work on soon once things get set up. I realized I used a different email address for Netflix than I do for T-Mo, so perhaps I should change my Netflix email address first so it's consistent? When some ISPs let you create so many email addresses, I made lots of them to separate personal email from business email from online shopping (spam).

I thought of one other question that's best asked here. I assume there are no restrictions, but I just want to make sure it's considered OK with T-Mo to let immediately family members use the other lines: such as parents, siblings, or children even if they live in other cities/states?

I don't think different email addresses matter or cause a problems as they are still separate accounts. The only thing that will change is the billing method on your Netflix account as they will get the money from T-Mobile directly instead of your credit card.

If I could start all over again I would use a different email address for every account created and could then better detect when an email address gets compromised and ends up spam lists.

I also don't think there is a problem sharing lines with other family members. Others have reported here they do the same or have plans to move grandma and grandpa onto the free lines.

Other states are fine. I even had the iPhone shipped to my mom in another state that is different than mine. Their e911 address matches their home address. Everything is fine and ok. I even saved on taxes as their state tax was lower.
