Quote from F1Racer :
Every system update I've gotten on a Pixel has been in the Sept/Oct release time line.

My P2XL had 3 OS updates on top of Oreo 8 (8+9+10+11) before I recently retired it.

As with any technology updates, the roadmap to consumer's hands have a lot faster lead time than when your individual phone receives it from the Google servers.

The Android 11 developers image was already out in the public domain for review back in Feb 2020 and released in September 2020 NOT 13 months from Android 10 which had similar timeline in 2019.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_11

I am not sure why you are arguing facts when the Google link I posted clearly states:
"Pixel phones get Android version updates for at least 3 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store"

https://support.google.com/pixelp...le%20Store [google.com].
Android 9 was released in August 6, 2018.
Android 10 was released in September 3, 2019.
That equals to 13 months later. Right?

Android 11 was released in September 8, 2020.

I can definitely see it being released every 13 months now especially during the pandemic. Employees are working less so it can definitely be later than usual. People confuse 3 years with 3 system updates when google never mentions any guarantee system updates. Google can't promise a customer 3 system updates because they can't predict the future and they don't know when they will come out with the next system update especially during the pandemic. If they run late or do it 13 months later the next couple years just like they did with Android 9 to 10, it will throw off the "supposed 3rd system update". There is a reason why Google never ever guarantee "3 system updates". You see 3 years though. Don't assume or expect to see system updates to happen on the clock every year at the same time.

Look at general availability.... Nobody looks at when developers were working on system. That doesn't matter.

Similar retail? The A71 is almost always on sale or has some promo either by Samsung or a carrier and the iPhone 11 is almost never on sale.

You can't compare by "retail" which are made up numbers for items always on sale.

In any case, For
Yoooo. It just hit me. Those of you arguing about my point, YOU are the ones who are fooled into thinking this is a mid-tier phone and are offended about me saying it's not. Im sorry if i offended you. Please carry on and enjoy your A71 mid-tier piece of $hit. Yes you are smart. You're getting a "$650" quality phone at a steal 🤣

Those who read my original comments and understood my point, bravo 👏.

This phone doesn't seem to be water resistant so beware. Don't take it to bathroom.
It's definitely NOT water resistant. Don't expose it to even light rain on the way to the car.

Samsung really screwed the pooch with this phone. Hence, the good so-called "deals" here.

We're pretty much on the same page, but you're missing the actual point I'm making. SAMSUNG IS CREATING A FALSE SENSE THAT THIS PHONE IS ON THE LEVEL OF THE IPHONE 11 AND PIXEL 5 by placing the retail at $650. You and I both know that's not true, but others actually think this is a comparable phone BECAUSE of the retail. I'm simply clarifying that it's not on the same level. Getting this phone in the 150-250 price range is NOT a bad decision, I already said that in my original comment. And you repeated my point about the iPhone 11 never being on this kind of promo, BECAUSE it's a better device.

I simply don't want people being fooled into thinking they're getting a $650 device for a steal. No, they're getting a decent device for a good price. I really think we're agreeing on this Hat-Trick.
Nobody is paying $599 retail for this phone. The unlocked Pixel 5 retails for $699 and the locked iPhone 11 retails for $599. I don't care what retail says because I don't pay retail. One poster is comparing it to a $1K phone. Another poster is comparing this deal with a $700 phone.

I don't know why you think that we are paying $599 for this phone.... People who are paying out of pocket for an unlocked phone for $200 is a much better value than paying huge bucks $600-700 retail price for the iPhone 11 or Pixel 5. There is a lot of things that I can do with my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G that I can't do with my iPhone. Apples to oranges when comparing Apple to Samsung.

Is it 3 times worth paying that extra? No way. Where is the Pixel 5 (retail $700) for $200? Oh. It doesn't exist. Where is the unlocked iPhone 11 for $200? Nope.

Lets try to compare phone deals with similar phone deals..... I paid a little bit more for my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G than my iPhone SE 2020. They had similar deal prices for me. Should I do a comparison? My daily driver phone is the Samsung. Is the Samsung phone perfect? Of course not. Is it a steal for phones under $200 budget range? Yes.

oh, so, if you get the phone back you end up paying the full price of the phone? Is that the dice you have to roll if you don't know whether or not they will accept your cracked phone?
Correct, if it doesn't qualify they will charge you the credit they were offering you but atleast there is no risk of losing your phone if it doesn't qualify if you request it withing 7days of when they email you that it doesn't qualify.
