Some one on costco reviews reported this is not regulated so will drop voltage on the 12V. "The 12V cigarette lighter outlet dropped voltage output to 11.23V at only 77% of battery charge, triggering the battery low voltage protection in the cooler"

Kind of odd that one of the AC outlets is only 2 prong. Most power stations AC outlets are 3 prongs. If it wasn't for this, I'd probably pick one up.

Ok I did a little digging on the net since Massimo themselves do not list in-depth info on this unit. This is a generic rebrand, but at $340 it's the cheapest I've found among them. There's identical units for sale under different labels, most notably Rockpals. If you zoom in on the 2nd pic on Massimo's product page, it shows model# MT-CN500 which is the generic model number from the manufacturer, Massimo lists their model# as MPS-500W. https://www.massimomotor.com/MPS-500W

Here's a short youtube review where the guy basically trashes an identical Aimtom unit since it doesn't have regulated 12v circuit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAvMnN6pbG8 Not sure if it has passthrough charging either.

Too bad Hobotech hasn't reviewed any version of it yet, I find his reviews the most robust since he tests these battery power stations to the point of failure, the generics have weaker circuitry that get fried if you overpower it with a high power appliance (heat gun, heater).

I chatted with Costco and the return policy on this is only 90 days.

Here's a review on ebay I found helpful:

This is the one! I

I Purchased this unit after two weeks of reading reviews from just about all the compatible units in this class and I'm really impressed with it. To start this exact unit is available in at least six different company brands with different color scheme to throw off the inexperienced consumer, at a higher price ($70-90 more). They all have pretty much the same reviews and I have asked the same technical questions to all of the different brands with obviously the same answers. (Because it's the same unit!) I finally purchased this unit for the best price I found of $387. This unit will charge fast within 6-10 hrs on solar on a sunny day depending on wether you have it hooked up to 100w or 200w panel. It will also charge in about 5 hrs with the wall AC jack or the 12v car adapter in about 8 hrs. The info on the screen is pretty accurate and tells you how much power your consuming and how much time you can run it at you current consumption rate. My favorite option is that you can run and charge things off of it while it's charging with the (pass through feature) The only drawback is that the 12v jack is not regulated and voltage will drop as the battery drains if it's not being charged simultaneously. All in all the best 500w @ 540wh unit you can buy for under $400 hands down. If your on the fence do yourself a favor and get it! You won't regret it.

I have the OKPro version of this unit. Amazingly I was able to run a 5k-BTU window AC for about 45 minutes. The AC is a frigidaire model that has "low voltage startup" but still draws 600 watts for a few seconds at startup, then levels off to 450w. I was impressed the power station unit could run at 450 watts for that long without the inverter overheating.
