Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

That doesn't make this not a good deal. $399 for a brand new unlocked s20.

You can still sell your old phone if you want to.

I don't see any new unlocked s20's in the low 500's. Are we comparing new prices to used prices here?

Also, you don't have to keep the phone on Fi. You can switch to Mint or whatever other carrier you like. That is what makes this a deal.
If you search previous fi threads it has always been about the trade in. It is a decent price on a phone, but this is slickdeals, not decent deals. Every other fi phone I have bought (4) has been a money maker by the time you sell it

You can turn off the phone or use a different SIM on the phone. Just don't ever put the Fi SIM into a different phone. If you do that, Google Fi is going to know your Fi line (SIM) is used on a different phone (IMEI) and invalidate the $600 promotion credit.
Have you done that before? There are posts on the GoogleFi subreddit where people have lost the discount because they did that.

Great Deal, but I think Google Fi is still a little expensive and haven't made the switch yet. I'm still paying $160 a month (tax/fees included) for T-Mobile for 4 phones with unlimited.

Google Fi uses T-Mobile and Sprint networks but didn't they just merge recently to create super network for T-Mobile, so my current T-Mobile is already like Google Fi.

it's funny - at retail of $1k vs $1,200 the extra $200 for the plus feels worth it, but the same $200 difference, when it's at an extra 50% of $400 vs $600 it doesn't feel worth it at all....

Got the OnePlus 7T on 2nd Dec. With B&H's extended return for Holidays I might be able to return it and get S20. Very tempting.

I do like the bigger screen on the 7T though. But the S20 brings a lot more feature.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Go s20 + they don't advertise it but s20 is missing a few frequencies, I remember this from my last upgrade.

Has anyone got their phone or any progress on the phone yet? I've ordered it last week and the free sim card as a separate but same transaction and neither has budged just wondering if I'm the only one getting the VIP treatment? Still surprised the took the old GV number I rarely used. But, won't catch me crying if it works.

"Super network" not sure how adding apples and oranges comes up being super apples, lol

Thanks for your help. Could you post a link to an eBay listing for new S20 for about $510?
Ebay? I'm still extremely squimish of ebay when it comes to anything over 20 bucks. You guys are willing to bet 5 benjis? Have you had to renig this much in the past with good results? Usually it takes half a year to receive it and if there is a problem paypal gives you the run around.

Do you have to order a sim separate from the phone? It doesn't include the SIM?

Picked up a $10 Ultra mobile SIM kit from Target.

Activated it with a new number. Gonna give it a few hours then call in to get my account info for port out and jump on this deal.

I also just checked Tmobile, Verizon, and AT&T websites for port out eligibility and they all confirm to be good to go so I'm assuming Fi is good for porting into also.

Speak of the devil. Just complained about the horny beast and he rears his head. Good question tho I'm not sure if the free sim is required. I'm hoping someone will chime in. I'm not trying to figure out if I can root this one. Sounds like only the exynos version is rootable per::

Was thinking about S20+ also but was not sure if it's worth the $200 price jump (from $400) for 3 things - Bigger screen and battery and 5G millimeter support. Specially since I doubt we will get special 5G devices near where I stay any time soon.

Well, it's a moot question because a new, unlocked, US version S20 on Ebay for $500 after tax doesn't exist.

No clue, because I didn't say "about $500".

I said "about" in reference to his "$510" - there's this website called eBay where S20s go for the low 500's. That plus a cheaper $10-15 Mint Mobile SIM that actually gives you data unlike this Fi $10/GB nonsense - and I just don't see the point of this "deal".

I used to have Fi - service was awful and the service charges would bloat up and be more than expected with no recourse.

By all means, if you want to pay more for less, give Fi your credit card. Enjoy.
Lowest price for a new unlocked S20 on the Bay is $630. Go away, troll.
