Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

Ok so newbie to cell phone deals.

If I don't want to port my main number from Verizon,
Step 1) Obtain number to port in such as ebay and pay $7 for like a boost mobile number.
Step 2) Buy the s20 from fi
Step 3) when the phone arrives activate it using the boost mobile number and just not use the sim in another phone for 90 days
Step 4) cancel fi after 90 days
Step 5) insert my verizon sim in the s20

price of phone + tax + price of number to port in + 3 months of fi + tax = total
$400 + $30 + $7 + $60 + $4.50 = $501.50
That looks right to me except that your service will probably be closer to $25/mo after taxes. Also, if you use a referral code when you sign-up you can $20 off your second month of service.

trick is use DE Address or an address that doesnt have sales tax for the service address , if you dont plan on using the service. that shaves 15 dollars off ot the 75.

For anyone wondering about using the phone with your non-fi carrier, I've now gotten an email by Google with my first bill and there's no charge.

I activated the fi sim via the fi app in the S20 the moment I received it and installed all the updates then did a factory reset which also deleted the app. While it was booting during factory reset, I took out the fi sim and inserted my main carrier sim and I have not yet received any notification on my credit card of any $600 charges.

My next bill is February 15th. If google deems I have broken the promo criteria, I'd believe I would see it by the next bill. I am extremely confident you can use the phone with another carrier sim as long as the fi sim is not used in another phone. Will report back if I get charged.
Has the countdown on the Fi Billing page continued to count down the days toward your promo?

I have been using the phone a few days. The biggest inconvenience for me is that when using fingerprint to unlock the screen, I don't know exactly where I should press on the screen exactly. It is also a bit slower to respond than my Pixel 3XL. Does anyone knows a trick or two to fix/alleviate this problem? Thanks.

save the same finger twice

Yes it has. As of today, I have 87 days to go. My fi sim had been removed and sitting in the S20 box since day one. I'll trash it once the count down is over and I cancel fi service.

Like I said, ballpark -- Amazon right now $569, or $541 with my 5% card, we're kinda right at the edge and jumping through several hoops for the privilege. With the S21 out, by next week I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing $499 at major retailers.

Any case, for me it makes more sense since I'll use Fi for 90 days and probably cancel since I despise their stinginess on data.
Can you post the link of what you are talking about? You said the same thing when the deal started and when asked multiple times you stopped responding. Even if it is available for 569, it will be over $600 after taxes since not everyone has an Amazon credit card.

Don't bother. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. The one he was looking at is an Amazon renewed item.

anyone use a case with a screen protector like this?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08618R...bGbQ36H0VP

I used something like this for S10 and worked great but there was no screen protector in between

Do I have to take off the pre installed screen protector?

Not only that, but I wouldn't trust this kinda product off Amazon unless if it's shipped and sold by amzn. Even then I'm still hesitant. Straight from Google I'd trust. ~$500 roundabout price for an s20 at this point is incredible. The s21 isn't impressing most reviewers much so the S20 is becoming increasingly more attractive. Don't be surprised if the s20 becomes even more expensive now.

I actually bought a renewed s10 and it was in good shape, like new.

Then this deal came along so I returned it.

Just placed my order for a S20 Ultra since I don't plan on upgrading till S22 or the next note.

Anyone have any updates about switching the sims? I heard as long as I activate the sim, remove it from the phone & never use it on another device I should be fine to use my main carriers sim.

Has anyone anyone from here had there promo invalidate for doing this?
