Postage from USPS... get it before rates go up!

Postage is going up on Jan 24th but not everything goes up the same percent.

Forevers are NOT going up, so if you only use forevers for letters and got plenty or you print postage and won't ever use stamps, move along, this is not a deal you'd be interested in.

Priority, express, parcels and post cards are all going up.

Second ounce is currently 15 cents and is going up to 20 cents (33%).

The post office sells a "forever" additional ounce stamp which currently is selling for 15 cents each but starting on Jan 24th will be worth 20 cents each.

You can use three of these stamps (currently 15 cents x 3 = 45 cents) starting on Jan 24 and it will cover a first class letter (5 cents over actually).

You can also use these on other mail (ie. priority mail, etc) as long as it adds up to current postage. Flat rate envelopes are going up from 7.75 to 7.95. If you don't mind putting lots of stamps on your envelope, 40 of these (2 panes of 20 stamps) will cost you $6 and will be enough for your flat rate envelope on the 24th. (or u could use 37 of these and a forever if that extra nickel is bugging u).

If you put postage stamps on priority mail, you'll have to go to the post office window with your package. U cannot just put it in the mail like a printed label.

The post office charges no sales tax. I know the usps store on ebay (run by the post office) was charging sales tax, but when I put the stamps in my cart, it looked like they were not going to charge me sales tax, so maybe ebay fixed that. Both usps.com and the usps ebay store charge $1.30 shipping (no matter how much u buy) or u can get them at the post office, no shipping. (I got 100 panes at the post office today but ymmv on how much they have in stock).

If you buy them on ebay, you'll get ebay bucks. If you can find a deal on ebay gcs (safeway usually has rewards back for gift cards), you can get a little bit more out of the deal.

The coil roll is not on ebay so you'd have to get it at the post office or usps.com

https://store.usps.com/store/prod...t-S_746904

These are LEGIT stamps from USPS.com, post office or usps store that is on ebay.

The deal is buy them at the current rate, use them when the rate for second ounce goes up 33%. They will be worth 20 cents each no matter how u use them.

Usps needs to stop giving advertisers free or reduced rates to spam us with junk mail. There is no reason they should get a break on fees. It costs them the same to deliver your letter with a stamp as it does spam mail.

Don't feel that way. Saving a few bucks isnt worth the time it takes for the math.

So unless you wont loose the postage and also would be saving hundreds why even waste your time.

Time is a valuable commodity. Set alerts for slickdeals and keep moving.

It's insane what kind of effort some people will go through just to save 5 cents.

farking USPS should not exist anymore. Always late only trash in my mailbox, they live off our taxes and the prices go up every year
They're more and more in competition, and holding up, with UPS, and perhaps lesser with FedEX etc..

Unfortunately; this overextended duopoly doesn't exactly make adaptation all that smooth - similar to many that have less empathy for the plight of the working class middle, which includes many postal workers.

Prices going up again??? I sell on ebay frequently and USPS shipping rates are already so much higher compared to FedEx or UPS.

Your state doesn't have an online option? Seems much easier than buying or for that matter finding your one stamp after a year.
Many of those state online options have a processing fee for the amount owed or for using a card to pay online. Read the small print.

Use pirate ship. com. It's fast and easy online shipping that is easier to navigate than the usps website. I was recently made aware of it.
Me, too. Cannot believe I've been using normal USPS rates! Great discovery and easy to create labels and ship.

Many also have an E-Check option that doesn't incur those fees.

I lead a nonprofit and write contribution thank you notes all the time. I use a lot of stamps and I believe people like getting a hand written note. They are more likely to send another donation if they are properly thanked. They are also more likely to open something with a stamp rather than metered postage.

I also use a fountain pen with a broad tip and take my time. I use Sargraso Sea blue ink from Diamine Ink UK. I order the ink 2 bottles at a time to save on shipping and it doesn't come in 2 days. Writing notes, mailing them, and the anticipation of receiving mail are enjoyable to me. Write someone a note of encouragement and you'll gain a friend forever.

OP is wrong. If you put stamps on your package you do not need to go to the window unless you're paranoid that you didn't use enough postage and want to double check. I always put mine in the box and if it doesn't fit, you can just walk past the line and leave it on the counter.

Actually, it says on the blue collection boxes that anything over 10oz must be taken to the post office (see article below). I ship packages all the time and have only had two returned because of this rule; both times it was the destination post office that made a big deal of it, and they were small town POs.

Yep, I'm still waiting on my escrow check after refinancing. I have a copy of the check they cut on 12/15. Almost four weeks now. I won't be wasting my time sending anything USPS anymore. If I need something sent I'll send FedEx or UPS, and bills paid all online from now on.

Lol unless you shipped Priority Mail Express there is no gaurantee on your delivery.
