good comparison between snapdragon 888 vs 865.

After only 2 Antutu benchmarks, snapdragon 888 started to overheat and dimmed the screen

by the 6th benchmark the scores were almost the same (snapdragon 888 experienced 60K point drop due to thermal throttling).
Snapdragon 888 - 624K score and 58 oC temp !!
vs
Snapdragon 865 - 567K score and 48 oC temp

Also each benchmark made the 888 used 5% of the battery vs 865 used 3%
After 6 tests, the 888 battery was down to 65% and 865 battery was down to 85%, shocking!

not looking good, skipping my pre order..

A rushed Xiaomi phone having (minimally reported) cooling issues with the 888 does not mean the S21 will share the same issues. It's honestly kinda weird that several accounts keep posting the same couple youtube videos claiming the 888 is bad when every reputable tech site is raving about how much it's advanced.

On the Samsung website I can choose at&t and upgrade my existing line. What I'm curious about is the option for down payment, eg:
Enter the amount for down payment Galaxy S21+ 5G 128GB (AT&T)

You can choose to pay more upfront to lower your monthly bills. Please enter the amount you would like to pay (max $472.49 ).

Would the charge come from samsung or at&t, and if I do so I assume I still have to stay with at&t for 30 months to get the full bill credits (but I will get them even with the down payment option).

I ask because Im trying to make use of the amex $200 deal and need charge to come from samsung. Also at&t locked is another $100 less that if I chose unlocked option.

edit:
answering myself, looks like it would be at&t regardless what I put in for down payment the credit card payment to samsung always show $0.00:
Charges breakdown

DUE TODAY$61.25

It looks like t-mobile version is $100 cheaper than the unlocked version... however, at the checkout, the tmobile version goes back up to the same price as the unlocked version....
anyone else experiencing the same?

Did anyone else get the LED light up notifications case? Seems both cool and gimmicky. Wish it came in more colors but I had to manually search accessories to find it as an option.
The best deal I came up with was MOAG control + BUDS Pro total with $550 tradein came to $267 before taxes total savings of 880

Trade-In Discount(s)

-$550.00

Bundle Discount(s)

-$147.94

Workplace Discount

-$32.50

Promo Code - YOURGALAXY1RESERVEWA

-$150

Another option I tried was 2x MOAG, + Buds + w/charger bundle that total came to $258 but I figure the buds pro will have the higher resale value for only $9 more

What's the difference between carrier variant (TMobile) vs unlocked? What is the catch with carrier variant being $100 cheaper?
Hardware-wise no difference. Just buy the cheaper one and then ask your carrier to unlock.

I thought the Samsung US Snapdragon variants can't be bootloader unlocked and hence can't remove the bloat?
You don't have to unlock bootloader to flash firmware or to remove bloatwares.

$700 for an iPhone 12 Max? That is a joke. Yu can easily sell the 256gb version for a grand or more. Interesting that they don't differentiate between the amounts of memory. Almost laughable.

I see the Tmobile version showing $213 but when added to cart jumps to $237 as if its the unlocked version

Try clicking on Remove and then Add again on "Choose your Carrier Offers." Also try clearing cookies and history. Samsung site is very finicky and glitchy. I had problem getting edu discount applied earlier. Had to try multiple times by clearing cookies and history and logging in again.

I tried on different browsers so this bug is because of Samsung, not because of the browser.

Looking for advice.
I have the S10+ 128GB. It's in pretty bad shape and I'm getting a replacement device using Samsung Care+, so I think it should be accepted for trade-in.

Upgrading to the S21+ would cost me $391.45.
Upgrading to the S21 Ultra would cost me $582.31.
I could also wait for the S22 and trade in my S10+ for $350 (probably).

Can someone just decide for me? My brain is too tired.

FWIW, I don't care about the SD card slot, headphone jack, and Samsung Pay downgrades
The Ultra is really the upgrade path for the S10 Plus, despite Samsung is doing typical weird Samsung stuff with the names all the time. S10e:S21::S10:S21+::S10+:S21 Ultra. I can't decide for you but the S21 Ultra 256GB was what I decided to replace my S10 Plus with.
