To answer some of the many questions about the low trade-in value shown. I have done this sorts of trade-in with T-Mobile before, It's a 2 part deal, It doesn't show the full $800 amount, THAT'S NORMAL.

PART 1.The official trade-in value you see during the process is less than the $800 offer, because that's the trade-in value that Assurant (the phone goes to them not directly to T-Mobile,) pays for said phone. The Trade-In "agreement" is for the Assurant value amount.

PART 2. Once Assurant has received, assessed and accepted the trade-in, T-Mobile adds the difference in the form of bill credits to total the amount of the Promo.
So it shows Trade-In value $80, yes, that's what Assurant will be paying for the phone. T-Mobile will add $720 to that and spread it all out in credits for a 24 months term. A couple of days after submitting the trade-in, your account should show the promo in the EIP section. The promo name will be shown there and "Pending Trade-In".

Voila.

Awesome deal for my S9. Wonder if Costco comes up with rebate deal instead of this EIP deal. Prefer outright deal.

Worth it to trade in S20 FE or the S21? Would still cost $50 in tax.

comparing the specs, S21 is not better than counterparts of S20. Screen is 1080 x 2400 compared to 1440 x 3200 of S20, 8G ram vs 12G of S20(S20 did have 8G version as well). just FYI

Considering this is a pre-order, we wait until receiving the s21 and then send in the phone we are trading in im assuming? Does t-mobile usually give you something to send the phone we are trading in?

The rest of the credit come in the form of monthly credits for 24 months. The $124 is for the instant credit.
I get $90 for my S9+, but where does it show the monthly credit during checkout?

I also have an S20FE from the recent T-Mobile EIP deal, which comes with 24 months of bill credits.

Can someone confirm that I can pay off the remaining balance, continue to receive the remaining bill credits until all 24 months are completed, trade-in the S20FE for the S21 using a different line, and receive 24 months of bill credits for the S21?

Thank you,
Tofu Vic
I paid off my Samsung S20FE 2 months ago and have continued receiving credits for it. I don't use it on my account so it doesn't show up. What I don't know is if trading it back to the same T-Mobile could invalidate the credits. I doubt it would but can't say with 100% certainty.

Any plan restriction? The iPhone one wouldn't work for select choice

This is the worst "upgrade" Samsung has put out ever since the S6 (i dont count the exploding phone). Seems like this may be a tradition every six years lol.

The hits continue...

- No charger
- lowered ram from 12 gigs to 8 gigs
- Lower res screen (may not matter to most)
- No curved glass (your opinion may vary on this)
- Plastic on the smaller of the two (same as above, opinions may vary)
- NO SD CARD SLOT...yet again!!

For all of that, you get...

- camera, camera, camera, with bigger phones getting more cameras
- SoC improvements
- full-suite 5G, including mmWave

Almost a carbon copy of the Apple keynote...just change out the iphone 12 mini for the S21. Sammy is definitely aiming for a larger chunk of the market here, with the features everyone talks about, at the chagrin of power users...who will probably go for the note21 ultra anyway.

This makes the galaxy line a lateral move from the Pixel lineup IMO in android-land. The fastest SoC doesnt make a difference if you dont get the quick OS updates (although both promise three years' updates now).

Still rocking my Note9 Applause

Only you and you alone can answer that question. I personally did not like the S20 FE or even the S20. But, do I have a Pixel 4 that I have had no luck selling on my own, so this is a great deal for future trade in value alone.

After talking to a TMO rep over the app...they told me that this promo can be done in person. So, if you don't trust the process by sending in your trade-in via mail, go to the store and do this. Also, for those of you that had questions about trading in the S20FE that you got from last year's promo, you can do this promo as long as you've paid off what you owe. Meaning after monthly credits, your total for the phone is $0. Take this with some grain of salt because reps have been notoriously wrong before.

T-Mobile will give you a shipping label and that's it. You are not supposed to send in your phone until you receive the new one.

I'm thinking about trading for N10 Plus to S1 Ultra. Here is my math:

1200 S21 Ultra
325 quoted value today for N10 Plus, Minus
875 EIP for 24 months; Subtotal
875 / 24 = $36.5 payment per month without credit
800 - 325 = 475 Promo credit remaining for 24 months.
475 / 24 = $20 per month promo credit for 24 months.
36.5 - 20 = 16.5 per month payment after credits for 24 months.
Total out of pocket cost $396 + tax.

Is this more or less correct?

Costco usually give you a credit/debit card as a rebate not monthly bill credit. Some time Costco is $50 cheaper than Tmobile. There is no $20 fee from Costco, while you will be charge $20 if you get it from Tmobile store or through phone.
Why they charge a $20 fee? Is there anyway around it?

For anyone wondering about Costco, I talked to my local rep and he said that they'll most likely be doing a bogo if you add a new line but starting when the phone officially launches.

Sadly doesn't sound like a trade in deal for us existing customers
