I have a different Philips Saeco superauto, but it uses the same removeable brew group unit as these Philips LatteGo units. What I've personally experienced is the grinder works OK, but the silver filter screen on the brew group can get clogged with fine, oily particles when using oily bean, so that the brewed espresso won't dispense.

It is a relative simple process to remove the filter screen from the brew group (with a specific Torx screwdriver) and a thorough cleaning will unclog the fine pores in the mesh. However, most folks won't be willing to go through this. Better to avoid oily beans in the first place.

Got this from Warehouse Deals for $549 in "Good" condition on 12/29. Arrived in a different packaging but had either not been opened or was refurbished (though nothing noted it was refurbished). Physically it looked brand new.

Works great - just a heads up that if you're willing to wait (and watch) after they sell some of these, several are bound to be returned and you might be able to score one a bit cheaper in a couple of weeks if cost is your main concern.

Great machine. Does an incredible job frothing for an auto. Did find it a bit challenging to "dial in" grinder settings and the pours were all occurring quickly regardless of fineness, but after some time we settled on the second setting for coffee and third setting for volume and that seemed to produce the best shot for us.

I have this without the latte go and really enjoy it. It has a coffee option and a lungo option. The only real issue I had was the auto shutdown. It is just too short. Another member sent me the following and it fixed the issue.

Hey i have the 3200 without the milk attachment. The 30 minutes shut down was driving me insane but someone sent me a link on how to re-program it to 180 minutes- it's not in the printed manual for some reason but it's in the on-line manual.
page 10
Adjusting the stand-by time
1 Press the on/off button to switch off the machine.
2 When the machine is switched off: press and hold the Calc / Clean icon (Fig. 16) until the Calc /Clean light and the Aroma strength lights go on (Fig. 17).
3 Tap the Aroma strength icon to select the required stand-by time: 15, 30, 60 or 180 minutes.
Respectively 1, 2, 3 or 4 lights of the Aroma strength icon light up.
4 When you have finished setting the stand-by time, press the start/stop button. The machine
switches off.
5 Press the on/off button to switch on the machine again.

I've had this machine for a little over a month and it's legit. Built well and very easy to use/clean.

I was told it's not recommended too. But that's using oily beans ONLY daily bases. If you mix use with medium and light roasts, you should be fine. Medium-dark roast is preferred if not Dark roast. Just try to use clean cycle often, you should be fine. This is great machine and puts out hot ass temperature coffee unlike other semi-automated coffee machines.

I love mine. Wife loves making her machiatto or latte. The only thing i question is the strength of the expresso. When I make americano is not that strong. Right now using the Lavazza super crema. Not sure if I need to adjust something or just need stronger expresso beans. When I make expresso I still use my Nespresso due to the bold and strength flavor

Apart from the frother, how does this machine compare to the "De'Longhi ESAM3300 Super Automatic Espresso/Coffee Machine" when it comes to espresso?

Is there an "Americano" button or something ? That's just is espresso with water added at the end, it's going to be weaker. I have a Breville and any bean I put in it makes a better espresso than my Nespresso.

Did you try the "Coffee" option in the first row, middle button? That is espresso lungo where it makes a larger espresso shot. I make it with 3 lights on coffee aroma and water quantity.

Bought this machine a few months back, I would agree with all of the other comments, it is a good machine. It froths milk very well, it won't give you any latte art though. The problem I have is the ability to froth non-milk substitutes, it does an ok job, but feel there is not much of adjustment settings I can make to achieve a better froth. At least with a wand I have a little more control. Other than that, I think the machine is great (and looks classy on my counter). I do use dark oily espresso beans and so far no problems with the machine, I am coming up on cleaning and lubing the brew group soon so will deep clean the screen while doing this maintenance. Hope this helps!

Weekly?

I pop a cleaning tab in mine when I remember once every few months.
