In their most recent release, the A7S III, Sony finally revamped their much criticized user interface. The A7S III has modern touchscreen interface with logically arranged selections and extensive customization options. It is expected to be the user interface for all of their full frame cameras going forward. They've also made large improvements to the view finder and sensor.

If you go to utube and search sony astro photography, you can find lots of good tips on the topic of shooting near (planets/moon) and far objects (stars).

I did not see the B&H match the above prices with the EDU discount. Prefer to buy from them as you mentioned with the Payboo card.

The IV will be better for picture takers, but far worse for videographers.
Different products for different purposes.

It was a vlogger's "wish list".
And like most wish lists, it was entirely unrealistic. Sony is not about to undercut their $3,500 A7S III only a month after it's become commonly available.
This isn't just for marketing reasons, it's largely for technical reasons. There is only one reason that the A7S III is the only full frame, full readout, fanless camera on the market that is able to record 4K 10 bit video without overheating. That is because the A7S III is the only full frame camera with a native 4K sensor.
All of the others overheat, pixel bin, line skip, or have loud fans. They do this, because resampling 6K or 8K down to 4k requires tremendous processing power, and those processors produce tremendous heat.
TLDR - Sony couldn't make at 24mp or 30mp A7 IV do what the A7S III can do, even if they wanted to. The IV will be technically, physically incapable.
It was on the list for a couple days when it was just released.
